Your Power, Your Path, Our Future

What does it take to step up from frontline worker to community leader? On this episode of 99 Rising, education workers share the stories of how they found their path into union leadership despite fear, doubt, and the heavy reality of working for poverty wages. We also sit down with Assembly Member Isaac Bryan of the 55th District, organizer, and movement leader in this critical moment. From his own struggles growing up to his call for a general strike in Los Angeles, Bryan makes the case for why working people, not politicians, hold the real power. Hosted by Executive Director Max Arias, 99 Rising features candid discussions with Local 99 members, community leaders, labor leaders, elected officials, and movement thinkers—all focused on what it takes to build power and win justice for working people.
