BTSMLS 07 -Removed From the Department I Built

In this episode, I share how things changed after my brother became Managing Director. A senior person was brought in, supposedly to mentor me in running the IT department, but soon he became my boss. Problems followed, my brother trusted him over me, and the department I had worked so hard to build slowly slipped out of my hands. Even after that person was removed, I was given only limited control, and later I was completely removed from IT. This part of the story is about betrayal, lost trust, and the pain of being pushed away from something I had built with dedication.

BTSMLS 08 - The Digital Marketing Turning Point

Welcome back to my story. After spending almost one year going to the office without doing anything meaningful, I started to realize something important. I needed to change my mindset. I also understood that I should not be too friendly with everyone at the office, because some people could go behind my back and speak badly about me. During that time, I contacted Webandcrafts, a digital marketing agency, to handle our company’s digital marketing work. I took their proposal to my brother, and after reviewing it, he agreed. So we moved forward with them. Around the same time, they also rebuilt our website. The goal was to make it more digital-marketing friendly and easier for us to update the content. In the beginning, my brother asked them to run ads for new hiring, and they did that very well. For the first few months, the work was going smoothly. Every post they created looked good and followed the brand guidelines that I had made with my brother’s approval. But after some time, I felt that some people in the office wanted to spoil what was happening. Maybe because I was doing a good job, they started getting involved unnecessarily. After one year, my brother removed Webandcrafts and brought in another agency. But in my opinion, the new agency was not good. And that is where the story continues in Part 9

BTSMLS 09 -In charge, But without Authority

In 2026, I was assigned to run the IT department again. On paper, I was back in charge. But in reality, things were very different. I went to the office every day carrying the responsibility of running IT, yet decisions were often made without me. People would report directly to my brother, get his approval, and then come to me afterwards to tell me what had already been decided. I had the title, but I didn't have the authority. After years of building systems, solving problems, and using technology to improve the company, I found myself asking a difficult question: What is the point of being responsible for something when you're not allowed to lead it? That question would eventually make me think differently about my future — and about building something where I could finally make my own decisions. The story continues in Part 10.

BTSMLS 06 -Trying to Build Something of My Own

After spending years helping build an IT department and a strong team, I suddenly found myself no longer involved in the work I had helped create. So I looked for another direction. That took me into digital marketing. I started working with WAC, the agency handling Paradigm's digital marketing at the time, and slowly began learning a completely different side of business—branding, content, design, communication, and marketing. When that partnership ended, another idea started growing in my mind: What if I started a digital marketing agency of my own? My first opportunity came from my mother, who was starting a home décor shop. I helped create the name, logo, signboard, and identity for the business. She became my first client. But she also became my last. I never managed to bring in another client. Slowly, I stepped away from the agency until eventually, everything went quiet. Looking back, I don't see that chapter only as something that didn't work. It was my first real attempt at creating something outside the business and department I already knew. And without realizing it, I was learning lessons that would matter much later. The story continues in Part 7.

BTSMLS 05 - When Everything Changed | Building Through the Hardest Years

Some chapters of life change everything at once. In Part 5, I go back to a period when my professional life was moving forward while my personal life was falling apart. As Paradigm prepared to celebrate its 25th anniversary, I became deeply involved in the creative work behind the celebration—from graphics and videos to helping bring the event together. At the same time, I was going through one of the hardest periods of my personal life. Then COVID arrived, and suddenly the way we worked had to change. With everyone working remotely, I saw that communication was becoming a major problem. I started looking for a better solution, which led us towards Office 365 and Microsoft Teams. Eventually, everyone at Paradigm could have a company email address and use Teams to stay connected. It became one of the systems I was proud to have helped put in place. But another major change was coming. My father retired, my elder brother became Managing Director, and slowly my own role within the IT department began to change. This episode is about building, adapting, losing, and continuing—even when life changes around you. 🎙️ The story continues in Part 6.

BTSMLS 10 - Building a future of my own

At 44, I found myself asking a difficult question: What am I actually building for myself? I was still a Director at Paradigm, the company my father started, but I no longer felt that I had a meaningful role or a clear career ahead of me. After years of working with technology and helping build systems inside the company, I slowly stopped fighting for a position where I no longer felt involved. Then my mother gave me a simple idea: turn our farmhouse in Kollad into a homestay. That idea became VaylArik — Stay. Gather. Unwind. I began using everything I had taught myself about technology, websites, branding, digital marketing, content and AI to build something completely different. At the same time, another idea started taking shape: Neovura, my own venture focused on online IT support and AI consulting. Two very different ventures. One built around a place. The other built around technology. But both represent the same thing: The freedom to build something of my own. With my parents supporting me, I'm starting a new chapter where I don't have to wait for a title, a role or someone's permission to move forward. Maybe 44 isn't too late to start again. Maybe this is where my real career begins.
