Changing Times

Changing Times News is a media initiative of the Humanitarian Changemakers Network, created to strengthen the role of journalism as a public good in an increasingly complex world. Grounded in the democratic function of the media as a fourth estate, Changing Times News is committed to holding power to account, amplifying diverse and often marginalised voices, and equipping citizens with the knowledge required to engage critically and constructively with the issues shaping their lives. At a time when much of the media landscape is driven by sensationalism, polarisation, or surface-level analysis, we focus on rigorous, systems-aware, and solutions-oriented reporting that goes beyond headlines to examine root causes, structural dynamics, and viable pathways for change. Founded in 2019 as a grassroots newspaper, Changing Times News became the catalyst for the wider Humanitarian Changemakers Network and its global community of changemakers, engaged citizens, and lifelong learners. Today, alongside initiatives such as the School of Social Impact, the channel continues to evolve as a platform for thoughtful journalism, civic learning, and collective sensemaking—supporting those working toward a more just, sustainable, and compassionate future.
