21 Laura Stylez: I'm Booked More Than Some of Your DJs

Laura Stylez moved to New York with no family, three jobs, and one plan: get on the radio in the number one market. Twenty-seven years later she's a Heavy Hitter, a 12-year morning show voice, and independent with Ebro and Rosenberg. Camilo and L. Boogs get the whole run, from answering Monie Love's phones to telling Enuff she was booked more than his DJs. The Heavy Hitter DJs Podcast is hosted by DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, DJ Kast One, and L. Boogs. The show is produced and distributed by SAVAGE. Catch all our episodes at https://www.besavage.co/the-heavy-hitter-djs-podcast.

Tracey Waples on Def Jam, Discovering Wu-Tang, and Signing Method Man

Tracey Waples heard Wu-Tang on a tour bus and was in RZA's basement the same day. The Def Jam A&R who signed Method Man sits down with Jeffrey Sledge to talk Andre Harrell driving her home at 15, Russell Simmons telling her "you have a job, go to work," working Redman, LL Cool J and Mariah Carey, and why the studio will always be a buried treasure cave. This is Mixed and Mastered with Tracey Waples. Mixed and Mastered is hosted by Jeffrey Sledge and produced and distributed by SAVAGE. 20 DJ Coro King: I Had to Hide in the Freezer

Coro King hid in a freezer so a Providence bar could keep its DJ. Then he built a streaming following that flies in to see him and books him for Thanksgiving. The Heavy Hitter DJs Podcast is hosted by DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, DJ Kast One, and L. Boogs. The show is produced and distributed by SAVAGE. Mike Escamilla: Rooftops, Stunts, and Stem Cells

Mike "Rooftop" Escamilla helped invent what street BMX looks like. Hoffman Bikes built frames around him. Nine X Games. Two Guinness World Records off the mega ramp. Then Hollywood: The Suicide Squad, Ant-Man, and dying in almost every episode of Lioness season two. He gets into where "Rooftop" really came from (it's neither story you've heard), a fire truck in Kuwait that rewired his brain, the stem cell treatment he credits with giving his life back, and why an industry with no gatekeepers has no quality control. Unglossy is hosted by Bun B, Jeffrey Sledge, and Tom Frank and produced and distributed by Savage. All episodes at https://www.besavage.co/unglossy. Join the conversation @unglossypod.

Chris Atlas: The Executive Who Went From Tommy Boy Intern to Fat Beats President

Chris Atlas has worked every side of the record. Promotion, A&R, marketing, distribution. Tommy Boy, Cornerstone, Def Jam, Warner, and now Fat Beats. He sits down with his friend of thirty years, Jeffrey Sledge, to talk Kanye before the world heard him, the L.A. Reid meeting that was just the movie Gladiator, and why anyone saying hip hop is dead is telling "the biggest lie." This is Mixed and Mastered with Chris Atlas. Mixed and Mastered is hosted by Jeffrey Sledge and produced and distributed by SAVAGE. Catch all our episodes at https://www.besavage.co/mixed-and-mastered.

13 DJ Yonny: Restless

DJ Yonny has had about five careers. Power 105 and La Calle at the same time. Dance radio with Star and Buc Wild. Top 40, TV, international. Then he walked away from all of it to produce in LA, met Poo Bear by accident, and built a Latin party in Hollywood nobody thought would work. Now he's in Colombia making records with Afro Latin artists and coaching DJs on how to do the same thing. He sits with DJ Kast One, L. Boogs and DJ Wallah and covers the parts nobody talks about: living in his recording studio, showering at the gym, and building an Airbnb business so he'd never wait on a promoter to pay him again. Catch the full episode on Apple, Spotify, YouTube & MerrickStudios.com. The Heavy Hitter DJs Podcast is hosted by DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, DJ Kast One, and L. Boogs. John A. Dailey: Camo, Character, and Walking Point

John A. Dailey left West Virginia at 17 to join the Marine Corps and stayed more than twenty years. Sniper, then Force Reconnaissance, then platoon sergeant with First Force Reconnaissance Company on 09/11/2001. In 2003 Donald Rumsfeld ordered the Marines to build a unit answering to US Special Operations Command. Colonel Robert J. Coates got 86 men and a two year charter, picked four team leaders, and gave them one brief: tough rugged bastards with strong backs and hard feet. Dailey was one of those four. He tells Tom Frank, Jeffrey Sledge and Bun B about HAHO jumps at 35,000 feet, locking out of a submarine at 60 feet, sniper school stalks, and why the bookworm sometimes outshoots the hunter. He retired in 2008 and got an MFA in creative writing. Find him at jadaily.com and on Substack. Unglossy is hosted by Bun B, Jeffrey Sledge, and Tom Frank and produced and distributed by Savage. 19 DJ SpinKing: I Was Gonna Be a Pediatric Doctor

DJ SpinKing was supposed to be a pediatric doctor. His grandfather practiced medicine in Guyana, SpinKing interned at Englewood Hospital for two years, then he crashed his brother Celeb's car at 16, got grounded, and found the CDJs in the basement. His parents did not approve. They told his brother Star that if SpinKing failed, it was on him. He sits with DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, DJ Kast One and L. Boogs and walks through all of it: the Jersey hotel ballrooms they got thrown out of, two years on the road with Diggy at 18, ProStyle playing "Tap It" while he was still on the high school basketball team, "Timeless" and the 6ix9ine record charting at the same time, opening Madison Square Garden for Cardi B, and the night he DJed Pasha with no mic. Find DJ SpinKing @djspinking. The Heavy Hitter DJs Podcast is hosted by DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, DJ Kast One, and L. Boogs. The show is produced and distributed by SAVAGE. Owen Hanson (The Cocaine Quarterback): Fame, Fallout & the Fight Back

This might be the wildest story we’ve ever told on Unglossy — and that’s saying something. This week, Bun B, Jeffrey Sledge, and Tom Frank sit down with Owen Hanson, better known as The California Kid or The Cocaine Quarterback. Once a USC walk-on turned national champion, Owen’s life took a sharp left turn from the football field into international drug trafficking, cartel money, federal prison, and headlines that sound fictional until you realize they’re not. Fresh off the Amazon Prime docuseries Cocaine Quarterback, Owen breaks his silence on what really happened — from how the documentary came together, to what it got right (and what it couldn’t fully show), to how you rebuild an identity when your name becomes a cautionary tale. This isn’t a glamorized crime story. It’s a raw conversation about ambition, ego, consequences, survival, and second chances. We talk life inside prison, hustling legally and illegally, the mindset it takes to endure a decade behind bars, and how Owen turned a mop bucket, protein powder, and sheer will into a legitimate business on the outside. From USC glory to federal time… and from rock bottom to redemption — this episode is about what happens after everything falls apart. No polish. No excuses. Just the truth. This is Unglossy. "Unglossy" is produced and distributed by Merrick Studio and hosted by Bun B, Tom Frank and Jeffrey Sledge. 14 The-Dream: The Craft Will Outlive It All

The-Dream pulls up to the Heavy Hitter DJs Podcast, and he came to talk his craft. The hit maker behind "Umbrella," a catalog of Beyoncé records, and Love Hate 2 breaks down why he's not afraid of AI, the eight-year-old DJ story that ended his career on his mom's Salt-N-Pepa record, and how you build a legacy brick by brick. Longtime music exec Yvette "Evie" Dávila joins the room with the stories only she can tell.
