Cats

Autumn Equinox

Tomorrow is the Autumn Equinox in the northern hemisphere so, predictably, we’re doing a show about it. In the Southern Appalachians, the nights are cooling and the days are pleasant. The leaves are starting to turn and we’re trying to find our balance in a world gone crazy. The equinox is a perfect time to seek that balance and focus on finding both personal and collective equilibrium. Music is a great way to do that! Ishq: “Autumn Still” (In Memoriam) C. A Woman's Voice

I decided to create a live set for the second hour honoring the smart woman who survived. Some years back, Adam Shaftoe tweeted: Soooooo I have been writing reviews for about ten years. My wife’s review of Alien puts everything I have ever written to shame. “Alien is a movie where nobody listens to the smart woman, and then they all die except for the smart woman and her cat. Four stars.” In the fight between Eragon and Alien, who wins? Ripley.

Autumn Light

The light in autumn is its own phenomenon: on crisp days or hazy, it takes on a golden hue. Reflecting from the changing leaves, and as an effect of the lengthening shadows, it feels… precious. Nature gives us this fleeting gift of gold before her grey cloak settles across the land for winter.
