Habits of Discipline Ep. 36 Teaching the Faith at Home

In this episode of Teaching the Faith at Home, Matt and Andrew dive into Chapter 3 of the Habits study to explore discipline and how we can shift from authoritarian control to formative discipleship. Many of us approach discipline out of instinct—reacting based on instincts that are based on serving selfish wants and needs. We discuss the vital importance of the developing loving authority, using a "Habit of the Pause," the necessity of building a foundation of prayer and connection, and why reconciliation (not just compliance) is the ultimate goal of every correction. If you find yourself stuck in a cycle of frustration and shouting, this episode offers a practical, Gospel-centered blueprint to move from conflict to restoration.

None Shall Make Them Afraid: 20th Sunday of Pentecost

“What It’s All About”: Sixteenth Sunday of Pentecost

This book comes to us with a sobering message: Life is meaningless—unless it is lived in a right relationship with God. How can we be right with God? The Kingdom Shall Be the Lord’s: All Saints' Day

You Will Have Good Success: Reformation Sunday

Pastor Andrew preaches with this week’s takeaway: "Then you will have good success" (Joshua 1:8). That's great! We want success, right? But is the success we chase after and desire "good"? Everyone strives for success, but so much of that success only leads to discontent, emptiness, and isolation...because it is not good success. The only good success comes from God's grace and in adherence to His will by His Word. Abiding in that Word and in Christ's life, we can and will be courageous in our vocations and Jesus' good success will be ours now and forever. The Son of Man is the King of Kings

Pastor Andrew preaches on: The nations of this world seem so powerful in their raging and warring, like terrifying beasts devouring everything in reach. This is exactly the picture Daniel describes in chapter seven of his book, but in the midst of the terror and chaos, God acts. He establishes His throne, He destroys the most terrifying of the beasts, and He gives His own power and dominion to one like a son of man, promising that this one's kingdom will last forever. Thank God, that we are baptized into the Son of man and that He is both our loving Savior and King of Kings.
