    Does Booktube displace critical review of books? • Booktuber Role tag

    This conversation caught my eye over at Cliff's Dark Gems, and I really liked the questions posed. It was summed up in my mind as the question, "Whyfor, Booktubers?" and not just booktube, but why we as humans step forward and do this. Are we displacing journalists and dedicated book reviewers? Has the 'book review' died? And did BookTok kill it? That last question is not truly addressed here, to be quite honest, as that is simplifying the matter far too much. Maybe that is something I would like to discuss though...     Early Summer Used Book Haul • No books till October!

    Summertime is full of beach reads for some, and often when new books get bought. There is really nothing in the cards for me until October, so I think I'll sit this one out and read what is on my shelf. After this little haul of used books that is! In October I do plan on buying quite a few books, so it is a good time to take a break from it all. Also, why I have not been to the theatre lately; and why we've also not watched a few movies of interest.     My Booktuber Habits • Behind the Scenes #booktube

    Ever wonder about the habits of booktubers? As in, what are the grooves that we fall in to when making videos, and if there is a zone to be in when 'booktubing' where is that zone, and what does it look like? It is always fun for me to see how others do this thing, and if you are just starting booktube yourself, these tag videos are sometimes helpful! It is like a little trade magazine interview, and here are the questions.1. Do you film in batches, or one video at a time?2. Are you scripted, outlined, or chaotic when filming?3.
