The Thing

Spooky season is upon us. It’s the time to watch the movies that heighten our own fears, one such fear explored in this months film asks the question of who do you trust when you are being hunted by a adaptive predator desperate to escape the frozen desolate tundra you find yourself in. For a second year in a row Undercast company’s resident horror aficionado, Alan Torres introduces this host to a John Carpenter classic. So have a seat and Don’t get to close to the fire as we discuss… The Thing PS the final minutes are pure nerding out on Doctor Who and how scary it can sometimes get. Follow Us! Trick r Treat

Trick or Treat, Choose wisely. This is the statement that is at the heart of this months frighteningly film. Continuing our annual tradition of Alan Torres introducing me to a Halloween classic. The following anthology movie offers up 4 modern interweaving penny dreadfuls that definitely put you in the Halloween spirit. So grab your pillow cases and get ready for some hopefully non-razor filled candies as we discuss... Trick r Treat. Follow Us! Godzilla Minus One

Over the decades of filmmaking there have been many iterations of the king of the monsters. And in recent years there have been quite a few. But this months film has been considered by many to be the top. A movie that has a compelling human tale of the Japanese disillusionment after WWII that complements the destruction that our favorite giant lizard king always leaves in his wake. So hold on tight and get ready for a blast of nuclear blast breath as we discuss…Godzilla Minus One. Follow Us! The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit

A genre that continues to be underutilized even in today’s media is the story of the Mexican American voice. While there have been a few instances of break out films such as Real Women have curves and Selena too few have gone undiscovered. In this month’s episode I am returning the favor to a previous guest who introduced me to a Mexican cinema film of their childhood by introducing them to a Mexican American Cinema film from my childhood. So slip into your best elegant white like snow clothing and grab your friends as we discuss… The wonderful ice cream suit. Follow Us! Summer Stock

Well after she sang about somewhere over the rainbow and and right before he sang in the rain, two juggernaut of post vaudeville Judy Garland and Gene Kelly made their second film together about a struggling farm owner invaded by a rowdy band of actors putting on a good ol show. So come on and get happy and listen as we discuss… Summer Stock Follow Us! Akira

Considered as a one of the most revolutionary and groundbreaking animated films of all time as well the first Japanese anime to break into the United States, this months movie has and will most likely continue to inspire filmmakers for years to come. Artistically stunning and existentially philosophical this film paved the way for the mature animated television and movies that we enjoy today. So hop on the metaphorical motorcycle with us as we discuss.... Akira. Follow Us! Marvel Animation Future Hopes/When Legacy Characters Are Good

On this bi-weekly episode, once again continuing on the topic of marvel animation, we talk about what we hope will continue the success of X-Men ‘97 in the form of other revived 90s animated shows. We also discuss how good the prequels hold up, where the sequels let us down, and how we hope the future of Star Wars will be in Dave Filoni’s hands and who would be our most anticipated actor to join the Live Action universe. Both conversations lead us to a conversation on legacy characters and where and when it works for franchises and our opinion that it might be best to just not look back and keep moving forward. Finally we wrap things up with 3 things that we actually had on our agenda: The Boys & Acolyte trailers and the Kendrick/Drake beef.Check out Undercast Company on a social platform near you!
