Arsenal Crumble? Man City Smash Chelsea as the Title Race Blows Open! Rio & Ste Tease JoeL

Welcome back to Rio Presents, brought to you by CRAFTD. We’re live and direct after a huge weekend in the title race, with plenty to get into following Manchester City’s clash with Chelsea and another frustrating chapter for Arsenal. The conversation starts with a closer look at the impact of half-time decisions, and how the contrast between Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta is becoming more and more evident when games are on the line. Rio also reflects on dressing room moments from his own career, revealing how the right message at half-time can completely transform a team’s performance. From there, the focus shifts to some of the standout players driving City forward this season, including the unpredictable brilliance of Ryan Cherki, the incredible output from Nico O’Reilly at left-back, and the growing influence of Marc Guehi during this crucial stage of the campaign. As always, we dive into the stats behind the story, comparing City and Arsenal’s attacking numbers and asking serious questions about where things are going wrong for Arteta’s side. With teams seemingly finding a blueprint to disrupt Arsenal’s build-up play, we explore whether the rest of the league is starting to catch on, and what that means for their title hopes. There’s plenty of debate throughout the show, including fan questions on everything from recent criticism around key players to the bigger picture at Arsenal, and even whether this could be a defining moment for Arteta’s future at the club. We also touch on wider talking points across the game, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and standout performers across Europe. To round things off, there’s a quick look at Roberto De Zerbi’s difficult start at Tottenham, plus a well-deserved shoutout to one of the young talents we’ve been backing on the podcast, Rio Ngumoha, after a special moment at Anfield. Diogo Dalot: I won't hide and I will not play the victim | Why Amorim was so important

In this episode of Rio Meets, Rio sits down with one of Manchester United’s most resilient figures - Diogo Dalot. From being questioned, scapegoated and loaned out… to wearing the captain’s armband at Old Trafford - Dalot opens up like never before. Enjoy this episode where Manchester United’s second longest serving player takes you behind the scenes of some of the most tumultuous times at the club. He offers a surprising review of Ruben Amorim’s tenure at the club and reveals why he thinks it’s one of “the most important periods” at Manchester United after detailing why all of Michael Carrick’s coaching staff are having such a positive impact. When Rio asks him about the impact of negative comments and reaction, Dalot discusses how his toughest season turned out to be one of the favourite moments of his career and why Kobbie Mainoo’s experience out of the side will hugely benefit the young midfielder. As a team mate of Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal and formerly of Manchester United, Dalot reveals how a 5 minute conversation with the United legend persuaded him to stay at the club and why Bruno Fernandes is “factually” one of the best players in the Premier League.  He also reveals what leadership looks like amongst the dressing room after the demands of Ruben Amorim changed the dynamic and discipline within the squad. 5. Bruno Fernandes: Manchester United Loyalty & Leadership | Refs Told Me To Stop Waving My Arms!

    18/12/2025

Bruno Fernandes: Manchester United Loyalty & Leadership | Refs Told Me To Stop Waving My Arms!

Rio heads to Carrington for an unmissable sit-down with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes — his most honest interview yet. For the first time, Bruno lifts the lid on the truth behind his Manchester United loyalty, revealing two genuine chances he had to leave, why he stayed, and how modern players’ loyalty is judged differently compared to legends like Francesco Totti, Ryan Giggs and Paolo Maldini. Bruno also breaks down the big tactical shift in his game this season — how playing deeper has changed his decision-making, the challenges for him and Kobbie Mainoo who play in that role what the manager demands from him in the No.8 position, and how Italian football influenced his game. He gives rare insight into United’s dressing room dynamics, analysing his teammates and explaining the incredible level of detail he computes on the pitch to ensure he delivers the perfect pass depending on which forward he’s feeding. Bruno also addresses Roy Keane’s criticism and how he really feels about it, the private conversations referees have had with him about body languag and discussions with managers Ruben Amorim and Erik Ten Hag about the level of pressure he puts on himself and how it sometimes negatively affects the team’s structure. And in classic Rio Meets style, Bruno opens up about the personalities behind the scenes — the biggest jokers in the squad, what really happens when someone steps out of line, and how he handles moments as captain that fans never get to see.
