Ashton Attz, is a Black non-binary painter and illustrator who won the coveted Evening Standard Art Prize in 2018 for the painting of transgender swimmers, “Don’t Stay In Ya Lane”, and Rianna Jade Parker is a leading a critic, curator and researcher whose first book ‘A Brief History of Black British Art’ was published by Tate in 2021. Art can both define a culture, shape it, and articulate the thoughts and feelings of a community. Why we laugh, what we laugh at - and what it reveals about us as Black British people.   Gina Yashere exemplifies what many see as a Black British talent drain to the US. In 2008, she became the first Briton to perform on Def Comedy Jam and has gone on to star in her own comedy specials on Netflix and to create, produce and act in the hit sitcom Bob Hearts Abishola, just confirmed for its 4th season on CBS.   Dane Baptiste made history in 2014 as the first Black British act to be nominated for a comedy award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
