Speedweek Left Us With A Lot To Unpack...

The post-Daytona 500 blues can hit you hard if you aren't careful, and a little dose of Dirty Mo Media will clear that right up. Welcome back to Dirty Thirty, also known as the most action-packed half hour of your week, and this week is loaded with content from FIVE of our DMM shows - so here we go! We start off with Dale Jr. discussing one of his favorite topics - how to reduce drag at Daytona. Get them guys back to having to worry about handlin', man! He and TJ discuss the relationship between off-throttle time and seconds saved on pit road. Dale describes exactly what he wants to see happen with cars at plate tracks, but his fix might not be exactly what you'd expect. Following that, Denny Hamlin discusses the wreck heard round the racing world this weekend, where Justin Allgaier took 100% of the blame. Denny describes how it went down and owns up to being responsible in some sense. Denny masterfully breaks down the moments leading up to The Big One, like only he can. You know we can't have a week full of hot takes without hearing from the gang at Door Bumper Clear. They tee up and tee off on the approval process for the top-3 series of stock car racing after watching what seemed to be Cleetus McFarland & Natalie Decker get caught up in avoidable wrecks over the weekend. If you like a fired-up Tommy Baldwin, this part is a must listen. We come out of turn 4 and head to the finish line, where the most viral moment of the week had to be addressed ... did Amy really tell Dale Jr. he should run the Daytona 500 next year? In Bless Your 'Hardt, Dale & Amy talk about how that comment came about, how it caught fire on social, and what the reality really is about Dale making a return to the Great American Race. That's it for this week, but there's no telling where we might find ourselves next time on Dirty Thirty. See you next time! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. 2. Jay Hedgecock on Racing Dale Earnhardt in the 70s

    11 DE FEV.

Jay Hedgecock on Racing Dale Earnhardt in the 70s

Dale Earnhardt Jr. sits down with a pillar of the short track racing community this week, longtime racer and chassis builder Jay Hedgecock. After growing up in a family with rich NASCAR history and attending the local modified race shops with his father, Jay entered the racing world himself, racing a micro midget that he dug out of his uncle’s junkyard. The work he’d do to get the midget back into racing condition would begin 55 years in the field. He’d receive the education of a lifetime when he happened upon a job in Tex Powell’s shop, after sharpening some drill bits for the automotive legend. Jay had firsthand experience working on NASCAR Cup cars through Tex, and before long, thanks to friend Howard Stewart, he’d find himself behind the wheel of a stock car as well.   After spending years building and racing late model sportsman cars, Jay would return to his true love in racing: the modfieds. He’d go on to win multiple championships with the Southern Modified Auto Racing Tour and track titles all over the heavily contested Virginia/North Carolina region. All the while, he continued his car building efforts and went on to build short track machines for Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. Today, Jay remains one of the most successful and celebrated car builders in the country, supplying late model stocks to much of the CARS Tour field and NASCAR Weekly champions. 3. Fuel Saving Drama, Daytona Memories, and Jeff Gordon on Dale Sr.

Fuel Saving Drama, Daytona Memories, and Jeff Gordon on Dale Sr.

Speedweek is finally upon us! The NASCAR world is running at full throttle ahead of The Great American Race, and this week's Dirty Thirty is no different. It's another supercharged episode, where you only need 30-mins to catch up on all the action. Dale Jr. starts us off with his take on racing at the plate tracks, with fuel-saving strategies being the hot topic heading into the Daytona 500. He and TJ go back and forth about ways to reduce drag, the possibility of ditching spoilers, and end up reminiscing about what Daytona used to be all about -- haulin' a**. Then, speaking of Daytona's glory days, industry-renowned chassis builder Jay Hedgecock joined the Dale Jr. Download's guest episode. He's known for fabricating present-day late models, but once built cars for past greats like Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. He and Dale recount the more famous cars he built, like the car The King famously flipped in 1988 down Daytona's frontstretch and the black No. 3 The Intimidator used to rattle Terry Labonte's cage at Bristol. We close the show out with special guest. Jeff Gordon, who joined Dale Jr. live from Daytona, sharing stories about his relationship with Dale Earnhardt Sr. on and off the track. Plus, a special announcement from Jeff Gluck. What better way to lead into NASCAR's biggest weekend than Dirty Thirty! We'll see you right back here next week for the next one. Danny Lawrence: The Goodwrench Shirt is Better Than a Tux

As Dale Earnhardt Jr. begins a new season of the Download, he welcomes longtime Richard Childress Racing employee Danny Lawrence into the studio for an in-depth look at the past. Having recently celebrated his 40th anniversary with RCR, Danny currently holds the post as vice president of the team’s technical alliances and director of their O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program. He first came into the organization assisting his friend Bobby Moody in the body shop, and before long, he was hired full-time, assisting Lou LaRosa in the engine department. Danny explains that when the team expanded to a two-car operation in the late 90s, Dale Earnhardt Sr. expressed that he wanted his own, separate engine shop. Danny was promoted to Chief Engine Builder in 1998, and his first attempt in the position was the historic Daytona 500 win.  Danny had a unique perspective on Dale Sr. and is full of incredible stories and firsthand accounts about the Intimidator. He shares anecdotes about Dale’s attention to detail and knowledge of a racecar. Dale’s leadership drove the RCR team to operate at the same meticulous level, which made them virtually unbeatable in the late 80s/early 90s. The interview also talks about RCR’s current-day O’Reilly Auto Parts team, and how much of the team’s preparation and approach hasn’t changed over the years. Real fans wear Dirty Mo. Dale Playing Cowboy Had Amy Turned On

Snowmageddon hit North Carolina hard last weekend, and Amy is ready for the snow to go away, while Dale is enjoying everything being closed. Meanwhile, their dog Gus isn’t quite sure how to navigate walking on ice. Thanks to their “Drink of the Week”, Dale learned what “Galentines Day” is. Dale and Amy’s donkeys got loose during the storm, and Dale had to play cowboy to corral them, which had Amy turned on. As if they didn’t have enough drama around animals, Amy wrecked her car trying to catch a cat. Plus, apparently, Dale treats Chat GPT like it’s his friend and asks some odd things. And in #AskAmy, they discuss the outfits worn at the Grammys, Dale at the MTV awards and Jessica Simpson’s dream about Dale.   And for more content, check out our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@BlessYourHardt Real fans wear Dirty Mo. The Magic Behind Dale Sr.'s Speed & Gus vs. The Snow

It's beginning to look a lot like RACE SEASON! We are back in the swing of things, which means you have a Dirty Thirty coming your way, where we bring you the best, funniest, and most engaging parts of this week's shows in a supercharged 30-minute episode. To kick us off, Kelley Earnhardt Miller sits down with Marcus Smith to discuss the highly celebrated decision to swap out the ROVAL this fall for the Charlotte Oval, bringing back the coveted "Charlotte Fall Race" NASCAR fans have so dearly missed. After going over the logistics of the move, the two also discuss the ROVAL's future ... will it be back? Marcus has plenty to say on the topic. Next up on the docket, Dale & Amy return after a week of Snowmaggedon - and one of them is more excited be out of the house than the other. Dale also describes the bone he has to pick with none other than Gus, the family's Irish Setter, who has developed a particularly annoying habit. You don't want to miss this Dale Sr.-esque rant from Jr. Speaking of the Intimidator, we finish off with part of Dale's interview with longtime engine builder for RCR and the black No. 3, Danny Lawrence. This episode had been long-awaited and is worth a full listen. Still, we had to highlight the moment when Danny tells tales of how the field was looking for any reason to catch the Goodwrench team cheating, but because they never did, they could never catch them - in the rulebook or on the track. Relive the magic of what made the Man In Black so fast in this all-time guest show moment. That's all for now! We hope you enjoyed it, and we will see you next time on Dirty Thirty. No team in NASCAR has achieved the same level of success as Hendrick Motorsports. In this DJD Classic, which originally aired 9/23/19, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his former boss, Rick Hendrick, sit down for an in-depth discussion about Rick's origins in motorsports, how he built up NASCAR's winningest team, and his plans for sustaining excellence in the future. Hear Rick recount the famous rental car ride between Dale Earnhardt and Geoff Bodine that was orchestrated by Mr. Bill France himself. 8. Lessons Learned From Dale Sr: Kevin “Two Beer” Pennell (Part 2)

Lessons Learned From Dale Sr: Kevin “Two Beer” Pennell (Part 2)

When Dale Earnhardt Jr. had his longtime friend and crew member Kevin “Two Beers” Pennell on the Download last time, their conversation was so engrossing that he had to come back for more. They pick up where they left off, in Dale Jr.’s rookie season in the famed Bud 8 car. They recall some choice encounters with Dale Sr., including a wreck at Bristol and their Cup debut at Martinsville, where Dale Jr. couldn’t get out of the way quickly enough. Dale and Kevin relive their thrilling victory in the 2000 All-Star race, where some key decision-making by Tony Eury Jr. helped put them in contention. The 2001 Daytona 500 is also discussed, with both men sharing their respective experiences of the post-race events after Dale Sr.’s tragic accident.  Dale and Kevin talk about some “ingenuity” and “innovation” that was taking place in the shop and on pit road to help close the gap on the more established Cup teams. They rehash the highs and lows of the 2001 season and their hot streak at Daytona and Talladega, which led up to the winning of the 2004 Daytona 500. Dale asks Kevin for his perspective on the team switch at Dale Earnhardt Inc., which stemmed from a falling out with Eury Jr. They also chat about Dale and Eury Jr. leaving for Hendrick Motorsports, and Kevin’s decision to stay loyal to DEI. The interview goes on to cover the whirlwind years of DEI, which saw it get absorbed by Ginn Racing, the acquisition by Tony Stewart, and the inception of Stewart Haas Racing and its eventual closure at the end of the 2024 season.   And for more content check out our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@DirtyMoMedia Real fans wear Dirty Mo.
