    The Odyssey star joins us for a skewer voyage. We’re delighted to host Tom Holland once again. His appearance on our Christmas 2024 special is written in Dish lore, so we jumped at the chance for a reunion ahead of a huge summer for the British actor. And that time came after England’s early morning World Cup victory over Mexico. Guess who of our trio stayed up for it?  Released a few weeks apart, Tom is in two global blockbusters certain to dominate cinema screens. First up is The Odyssey, as part of an all-star cast including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. The film, directed by Christopher Nolan, delivers the Homer epic at scale, shooting on IMAX cameras in locations across the world.  The Odyssey is out now, ahead of Tom’s second summer film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day: and that’s the focus of Part 2 of our chat, released next week on 29 July. We love Tom Holland, the summer edition, and our free-flowing conversation moves from filming with Lionel Messi, to meme-worthy red carpet poses, and an inside perspective on the challenge of Hot Ones.     Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has finally landed in cinemas around the world, and to mark the occasion, we've turned the latest episode of The Interviews into an Odyssey special, as Chris Hewitt talks to two of the key pairings from Nolan's epic adaptation of the Homer poem. First up, you'll hear from Himesh Patel and John Leguizamo, who play Eurylochus and Eumaeus, two characters who are close to Odysseus, the warrior whose journey home after The Trojan War is beset by the kind of bad luck that would have you begging for a bus replacement service. And then you'll hear from Odysseus himself, aka Matt Damon, and Tom Holland, who plays Odysseus' son, Telemachus, as they talk about their toughest days on set, the worst smells, and forging a father-son bond between two characters who are apart for much of the film. These aren't spoiler interviews, but references are made to certain scenes, so perhaps wait until you've seen The Odyssey before listening, just in case. But both pairings were on cracking form, and we hope you'll enjoy.

Born and raised in South-West London, Tom Holland’s career began on the West End, when he won the part of Billy Elliot in 2008. He went on to star in the critically-acclaimed film, The Impossible with Naomi Watts in 2012. He is best known for his role as Spider-Man and his first foray into the Marvel Universe came in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. He has since reprised the role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and several Avengers movies. Tom Holland is here to celebrate the launch of Bero, his new alcohol-free beer. Angela prepares a festive feast of slow-cooked pork shoulder with peas & mint with roast potatoes with rosemary salt, sticky pigs in blankets, the best cauliflower cheese, by Martha Collison and orange & honey glazed carrots.
