Kink (w/ Margaret Cho, Zach Noe Towers, and Gregg Araki)

Joel Kim Booster opens with a theory about Gen Z’s relationship to porn and doesn’t let up from there. Margaret Cho, Zach Noe Towers, and Gregg Araki join him to talk sexual muses, the etiquette of dating someone with the wrong politics, and a real conversation Joel had at a party about reverse racial dating discrimination. Along the way: Margaret’s Percy Jackson era, Zach’s queer-Asian solidarity bit, and Gregg previewing his new erotic thriller I Want Your Sex, out in theaters this month with Olivia Wilde, Cooper Hoffman, and Charli XCX, and Margaret Cho. 2. "Bi-erasure" (w/ Travon Free, Ian Fidance, and Kat Bird)

    7월 20일

"Bi-erasure" (w/ Travon Free, Ian Fidance, and Kat Bird)

Joel sits down with an all-bisexual panel — Trayvon Free, Ian Fidance, and Kat Bird — to dig into the stereotypes that follow bisexual people around (too greedy, secretly gay, just experimenting), the specific stigma bisexual men face versus bisexual women, and what it felt like to come out on their own timelines. The conversation covers dating across the gender spectrum, getting fetishized, getting razzed by other comics, and not quite fitting neatly into gay or straight spaces. 3. "Did Your Family Mess You Up?" (w/ Usama Siddiquee, Rachel Wolfson, and Felicia Folkes)

"Did Your Family Mess You Up?" (w/ Usama Siddiquee, Rachel Wolfson, and Felicia Folkes)

Joel Kim Booster is joined by comedians Usama Siddiquee (Funny AF with Kevin Hart runner-up, Usama Bin Laughing), Rachel Wolfson (Jackass, Rachel Interrupted), and Felicia Folkes (Funny AF with Kevin Hart top-ten finalist) to unpack how their families shaped — and warped — their approach to sex, love, and dating. They swap the worst relationship advice their parents ever gave them (location-sharing paranoia, "never let your man know where you are," marry-by-23 ultimatums), debate whether waiting to sleep together actually matters, and get into how cultural upbringing colors everything from jealousy to attraction.   Send in your own listener questions by emailing us at intimacycoordinatorpod@gmail.com or leave us a voicemail at ‪(213) 379-9851‬‪. Types (w/ Symone, Adam Shankman, and Guy Branum)

Joel Kim Booster, Symone, Adam Shankman, and Guy Branum get into their types — and the harder problem of being someone else's. Guy explains why being attracted to him counts as a kink. Symone breaks down getting collected like Infinity Stones by men who only date Drag Race winners. Adam, talks about the gap between how he feels at work and how he feels everywhere else. Plus the katanas on every Chicago hookup's wall, Guy's lifelong pull toward redheads, and the exact movie that made each of them culturally gay. Partner Checklists (w/ Evan Williams, Alyssa Limperis, and Kel Cripe)

Series premiere. Joel Kim Booster sits down with comedians and real-life best friends Alyssa Limperis, Evan Williams, and Kel Cripe to take apart the mental “checklist” of qualities we swear we need in a partner — and what happens to that list the second you actually fall for someone. They get into dating red flags, the code words couples use to defuse a fight, and how the relationships we grew up watching shaped what we think love is supposed to be. Plus, a listener question from a newly single party boy looking for a man who’s got his life together but still knows how to misbehave. 8. Introducing Depresh Mode with John Moe: Joel Kim Booster Is In A Pit

    2021. 08. 04.

Introducing Depresh Mode with John Moe: Joel Kim Booster Is In A Pit

It's tempting to try to look for a reason why Joel Kim Booster, ordinarily a very funny and engaging person, feels dead inside, trapped in a persistent depressive state. His father recently died of COVID. The two hadn't been very close (Joel's dad was a conservative Christian, Joel is a gay Hollywood star) but were beginning to reconnect. You could point to the pandemic, which left Joel in an apartment he doesn't like for extended periods. But it's just as easy to point to things that aren't especially depressing about Joel's situation. He's got movie and TV deals, he's taping an hour-long Netflix special, he has recently fallen in love, and he's doing well enough that he's about to buy a house. The truth is that any of those factors might influence Joel's mood and behavior but depression isn't simple enough to be routinely caused or prevented by one's fortune in the rest of life. Depresh Mode host John Moe says this interview is the strongest representation of what depression is like that he's done in all his years of interviewing people on the subject.
