Recapping the Super Bowl, discussing Sam Darnold's potential fit and interviewing Joe Theismann & Antonio Gibson

For those feeling sad that the NFL season is over — which should be all of you — this Washington Football Talk should help you out a bit. After JP Finlay updates Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey on how his new radio gig is going, the three of them decide that Washington fans shouldn't be too excited that their team hung with the now-Super Bowl champs on Wild Card Weekend and otherwise recap Bucs-Chiefs, which gives Mitch the opportunity to angrily rant on something that likely he only noticed and cares about. Once they move past the Super Bowl, the trio goes back-and-forth on Sam Darnold's potential fit in Washington and how much they'd give up to get him, a segment that leads to more QB analysis and names like Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz being tossed about. Lastly, they finalize the winner of their sad little betting pool before moving on to a pair of interviews they snagged last week with Joe Theismann and Antonio Gibson. Theismann's thoughts on Washington's hunt for a QB, and why he wouldn't go crazy to get Deshaun Watson, are compelling as usual while Gibson looking back on his rookie year (and one celebration he probably won't be doing anymore) is entertaining as well. If you like podcasts where Mitch rightly brings up the law of syllogism but wrongly loses his mind over a broadcast item that the world loves, then this is the episode for you.
