This episode is sponsored by Riverside. Check out Riverside by using the link in the description box or go to bit.ly/twoshotpodcast (all lower case) and enjoy 60 minutes free recording. Hi. How are ya? It's Two Shot Podcast time. This week's guest is the broadcaster and presenter (amongst other things) Rick Edwards. You might know Rick as one of the most recent voices to be added to the BBC Radio 5 Live roster, where you can now hear him on the breakfast show, but he's done tons of other stuff that you'll know; T4, Freshly Squeezed, Fighting Talk, hosting the Paralympics, as well as writing books and shows and loads more. Rick went round to Craig's in Manchester, a city he's recently moved to for his new job. They have a brew and sit down for a proper chat. They discuss last previous guest Emer Kenny (who Rick happens to be married to), changing environs, fitting in at university, friends, the callow thirst for attention, Americans and sarcasm, opportunities and loads, loads more. As Craig mentions in the intro, this is an episode where you really get to know somebody. Rick's brilliant and dead funny. You'll love it. This is series nine, episode seventeen of the Two Shot Podcast with Rick Edwards. 2. Karl Pilkington

    Karl Pilkington

How the devil are you? Thank you so, so much downloading. Things good? Things not so good? Well put all that aside for an hour or so and let's dive into the world of KARL PILKINGTON.  We announced that Karl would be joining us on Monday, as we always do (what? You don't know that? Check your social media!) and since then anticipation has been building for episode 55 and to hear more of what makes Karl, well... Karl.  Craig & Producer Griff travelled south (London's soho to be exact) to meet Karl at the hotel he was staying in. Tea was ordered, microphones were set up and we hit the record button.   It's a bit of a podcast of two halves this really. Craig and Karl start off by having a bit of a moan about all sorts of stuff (well, it was quite early in the morning) and then just before it turns into a full whinge about the state of everything they think is wrong, it's a hand brake turn into Karl's life and his past and what's happening right now. Actually while you're here... what's happening right now is this: https://www.skygroup.sky/corporate/media-centre/articles/en-gb/meet-karl-in-first-look-trailer-for-new-sky-one-comedy-sick-of-it Karl's done with all his travel show stuff and now he heads into sitcom territory with a show cowritten by himself and long term collaborator RICHARD YEE. 'SICK OF IT' starts sept 27th at 10pm on Sky 1 & NOW TV. And before you ask, no, we havnt been sponsored by Sky One. We just like Karl and happen to think his show is dead, dead good. Oh, and there may be a TSP connection for the very first episode of his show... Hmmm. It's a very, very entertaining episode that we loved recording. Karl is an absolutely brilliant fella to spend time some time with, so sit yourself down and strap yourself in.  Really hope you enjoy.  THIS IS EPISODE 55 OF THE TWO SHOT PODCAST WITH KARL PILKINGTON. Get in touch... 3. Jacob Anderson

    Jacob Anderson

Spooky seasonal greetings to you all. Hope you're all doing alright. This week on the podcast we are blessed with the company of artistic polymath Jacob Anderson; nom de plume Raleigh Ritchie. You'll have seen Jacob as Grey Worm in HBO's Game Of Thrones, alongside previous TSP guests on Broadchurch, in BBC2's Episodes, and in loads of theatrical productions. As Raleigh Ritchie, Jacob recently put out the frankly brilliant single Time In A Tree which if you haven't heard his music before is as good a place as any to start. Jacob is an absolute treasure. Candid and warm and humble. This episode captures him in a self-reflective mood as he shares his struggles, strifes and hopes. He's a thoroughly lovely human and we hope he captures your hearts as much as he did ours. Big love Jacob. We've just hit #500subs on youtube - To celebrate, we're putting out this week's episode out as a full length video! 4. Danny

Happy Thursday! Hope you're all well. Here we go again. It's episode six! I say "here we go again" but this weeks guest is surprisingly different. Different in that usually, we tell you who it is and a little bit about them. Can't do that this week. Our guest wants to remain unnamed and this is something we respect on the Two Shot Podcast. For those of you who don't know (and why would you?) we give each guest freedom of edit which means they can talk freely and openly without consoring themselves and feeling inhibited during the chat. Once we've recorded and producer Griff has worked his magic in cleaning it all up and making it sound super sweet, we offer our guests the chance to have a listen and check that they've not said anything they're not comfortable with. In this instance, due to what our guest does for a living now, it made total sense. It's another great story and one we're pleased he agreed to chat about.Get the kettle on and let's get going. We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. Please tell your friends about us IRL and help spread the word on the internet, give us a rating on here if you like what you hear, and subscribe to stay update with future episodes. We've got some brilliant guests lined up. Facebook- search 'Two Shot Podcast' Twitter- @twoshotpod Instagram- @twoshotpod Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/twoshotpod. 5. Joseph Gilgun

    14/09/2017

    Joseph Gilgun

This week we're celebrating some of the talented, past TSP guests who've been recognised at this year's BAFTAs. This episode with Joseph Gilgun first aired September 14th 2017. Alright. How’s it going? Thanks loads for downloading and listening.  Here we at our tenth episode. La Decima! We’ve got something special for you this week...  it’s a Two Shot Podcast chat with the one and only Joseph Gilgun. You might know him as Woody from Shane Meadow's This is England, As Rudy Wade in Misfits alongside our host Craig, as Eli Dingle in ITV's Emmerdale, or morer recently as Cassidy in AMC's Preacher. Joe is a special character. A rakish raconteur with a passion for making people piss their pants laughing. He wears his feelings on his sleeve and his disarming honesty and endearing vulnerability really make this an unmissable episode. We talk about drama school, dyslexia, family, anxieties and growing up in a Lancashire town. It’s a wonderfully frank hour or so and if there’s not at least one moment that doesn’t make you laugh out loud then we’ll give you your money back. Enjoy. It’s Two Shot Pod number ten with Joseph Gilgun.  We're a brand new podcast and need all the help we can get to get our episodes heard. Please tell your friends about us IRL and help spread the word on the internet, give us a rating or a 'like' on here if you enjoy what you hear, and subscribe to stay update with future episodes. 6. Cash Carraway

    23/12/2023

    Cash Carraway

As we reach the end of it seems only right to furnish you all with another episode in the same week.  Welcome to the penultimate TSP episode and this one has been long in the making.  This week we welcome writer & show runner Cash Carraway.  Craig and Cash were in touch 4 years ago to try and arrange and time and date for Cash to come on and talk…..turns out the perfect time and date is now!  Cash first came to our attention with her book, Skint Estate. Since then, Cash has written for theatre and shorts and then a real breakthrough with incredible BBC/HBO series RAIN DOGS starring Daisy May Cooper. More recently Cash has been nominated in the BAFTA breakthrough category.  Finally, Craig and Cash set up a date to meet for the first time in person to record. Craig has as welcomed into Cash’s house where the tea flowed and Craig tried to mask the sound of doughnut eating whilst conducting the conversation. He may have failed on a few occasions.  Cash is an incredible person so we were thrilled to make this work.  After this conversation do go read SKINT ESTATE and RAIN DOGS is available to stream now.  We can’t wait to see what’s new on the slate for Cash. Until then, please welcome the brilliant Cash Carraway.  Craig Parkinson  If you've enjoyed listening to this episode then please click through to patreon.com/twoshotpod to make a donation to the running costs of the show. 7. Martin Compston

    Martin Compston

100 N/O. Not a bad innings that is it? Thanks for joining us this week. It's only our hundredth bloody episode. Thanks a load to everyone who's listened, shared, sponsored, recommended and generally made us feel lovely about the podcast. It's really, really appreciated. On to our guest... It's flipping Martin Compston. We've been talking about sitting down with Martin ever since the very first episode with his Line Of Duty co-star Vicky McClure all that time ago. It seemed very appropriate to mark our hundredth episode with this episode. You'll know Martin from the afore mentioned Line of Duty but also in many other hings including Monarch of the Glen, The Wee Man and Ken Loach's wonderful Sweet Sixteen. It's a proper good chat between mates this one, navigating through the subjects of dance-offs, pub selfy etiquette, mayonnaise revelations and loads more. Thanks again for all the support over the past couple of years and don't forget to keep telling your pals about us. It really helps us grow. This is episode 100 of the Two Shot Podcast, with Martin Compston.  Get in touch...
