Welcome to Tea with Twiggy! In this episode Twiggy has tea with Myleene Klass! Twiggy and Myleene talk about "Myleene's Music Klass", which she set up on YouTube. If you're interested in her free online music lessons you can find them by clicking this link or searching for "Myleene's Music Klass" A musician, singer, model and television presenter, Myleene Klass is an unstoppable all-round entertainer. Making a name for herself as a vocalist and classical pianist, Myleene has since developed a career packed with on-screen appearances, features in major fashion magazines, partnerships with retail giants like M&S and Littlewoods, a primetime saturday show for Smooth Radio and so much more. Myleene was born in Norfolk in 1978 to an English-Austrain father and a Filipina mother. She began playing the piano and her grandfather's violin at age of four. She studied voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she also added Harp to her repertoire. After completing her studies Myleene then won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where she later graduated. Myleene then worked as a session musician/singer. She says: "I was incredibly fortunate. I got the chance to work with some of the most remarkable artists on a daily basis and learn from them. The diversity of the music I encountered each day is every musician's dream." Myleene toured with the likes of K.D.Lang, Robbie Williams, Cliff Richard and Michael Crawford to name but a few. HerWest End debut followed rapidly afterwards as she joined the cast of “Miss Saigon”. "I enjoyed being part of an ensemble. Miss Saigon is such an epic show and I had so much fun. It’s such an emotional and rewarding show to be a part of" Myleene first shot to fame in the 2001 ITV1 series Popstars the original reality TV music show whose premise was to create a UK pop band. From thousands of singing hopefuls, Myleene was chosen to become one of five members of thecontroversial yet incredibly successful pop band, Hear'Say. Hear’Say’s first single “Pure and Simple” entered the charts at No.1, going on to sell over 1 million copies. This was followedby their No.1 album “Popstars”, and another No.1 single “The Way To Your Love”. However, despite a string of hit singles, a nationwide sell out tour,, and gigs with legends like Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion, the band split in late 2002 leaving Myleene to pursue a solo career. Myleene hosts her show every weekend on Classic FM and every Saturday afternoon on Smooth Radio. Myleene has been a very popular TV host on Popstar to Operstar and The Classical Brits. She has also taken a jump into the world of retail and developed her own collections.
