    יום ג' פ' וירא, י"ג מרחשון, ה'תשפ"ו

    התוכן [המשך] ועד"ז בנוגע המענה לשאלה הנ"ל, איך מובן ששייך להשפיע על כל העולם "לעשות צדקה ומשפט", שיש בזה ב' גישות – "הגדיל" ו"הפליא". "הגדיל" – מסבירים להם עפ"י שכל: מגלים לכל אלו שעדיין אינם מתנהגים באופן של "צדקה ומשפט" – שרצונם האמיתי הוא שיהי' "צדקה ומשפט" בעולם, דבלי זה יכול הדבר להזיק להם. אבל כדי שה"צדקה ומשפט" יהי' מיוסד על "ושמרו דרך ה'", מכיון שזהו רצונו ית' וצריך לציית לו (ולא מפני שזהו תועלת אישית), ע"ז צ"ל ה"הפליא": כ"א צריך להכיר בנפלאות והשג"פ שרואה בחייו האישיים, ובכללות העולם (כמו זה שמליוני אנשים השתחררו פתאום מעבודת פרך ללא שום מלחמה מצדם אלא מבחוץ וכו'), וחייב להודות שזהו בכח הקב"ה, שהוא הבעה"ב לא רק של איש פרטי אלא של כללות העולם. ובמילא צריכים לציית לו. Similarly, regarding the question of how it makes sense logically that one can influence the entire world “to do righteousness and justice,” there are two approaches, “great things” and “wondrous things.” “Great things” means to explain rationally to those who do not yet conduct themselves with righteousness and justice that deep down they desire righteousness and justice in the world, because otherwise, they are liable to get harmed themselves. But for the righteousness and justice to be founded upon “keeping the way of Hashem,” meaning (not for personal benefit but) because this is Hashem’s will, which must be obeyed – this requires “wondrous things”: every person must recognize the wonders and the Hashgacha Pratis he experiences in his own life and in the world at large (such as the miracle of millions of people suddenly being freed from slavery without any effort on their own part, entirely due to forces outside them etc.). One must acknowledge that these wonders are performed by Hashem, who is Master not only of the individual but of the entire world, and therefore one must obey Him. (And the idea that “Hashem has done great and wondrous things in the land” is renewed every year on 19 Kislev.)     התוכן ישנם המקשים: איך יכולים מיעוט קטן של אנשים להפיץ מעיינות לכל ישראל, ועד"ז להשפיע על מליוני איש בכל העולם (וביניהם גם אלו ש"דרכם להזיק") "לעשות צדקה ומשפט"?! והמענה: הרי הוא מאמין, שהקב"ה, בורא העולם ומנהיגו שמשגיח על כאו"א בהשג"פ, צווהו לעשות כך, וא"כ בודאי שיש לו את הכחות להצליח בזה. אבל גם עפ"י שכל אפשר להבין שאפשר להצליח בזה, ובהקדם ביאור ב' הלשונות במ"ש אדה"ז בקשר לגאולה שלו בי"ט כסלו (שנאסר בגלל חשד מרידה במלכות ולא הי' מקום בטבע שינצח אותם, ובפועל הסכימו לשחררו "בשלום") – שזה הי' באופן ש"הגדיל והפליא ה' לעשות בארץ וכו'". "הגדיל" פירושו שאע"פ שזהו דבר גדול אבל זה מובן ע"פ שכל. משא"כ "הפליא" פירושו שזהו דבר פלאי שלא מובן, ומ"מ חייבים לקבלו. וכמסופר שעל רוב השאלות ששאלו את אדה"ז בעת מאסרו ענה בהבנה והסברה – "הגדיל". אבל על שאלה א' לא ענה אלא פרץ בצחוק. היינו שביטל את השאלה כאילו לא הי' מקום לזה מלכתחילה, ללא הבנה והסברה – "הפליא" [המשך יבוא]. משיחת י"ט כסלו ה'תשכ"ט ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=03-11-2025 Synopsis Some people ask: How can a small minority of people spread the wellsprings to all Jews, and influence millions of people throughout the world (including those whose “way is to cause harm”) to “do righteousness and justice”?! The answer is, if one believes that Hashem, the Creator and Ruler of the world, Who watches over every individual with Hashgacha Pratis, commanded him to do so, then he certainly has the capability to succeed. This can also be understood according to reason, based on the two expressions the Alter Rebbe uses regarding his liberation on 19 Kislev: “Hashem has done great thing and wondrous things in the land etc.” –“great things” means something that is extraordinary, but can be understood logically. “Wondrous things” means something miraculous that cannot be understood logically, yet one sees that this is the reality. In this vein, when the Alter Rebbe was interrogated during his imprisonment, he responded with logical explanations (“great things”), but there was one question that he did not answer at all, and instead he started laughing, meaning, he resolved the question in such a way that the question had no place to begin with, without logical explanation (“wondrous things”).     התוכן 1) מסופר בתורה אודות המסירת נפש שהי' לרחל שיהי' לה בן. וכמדובר כמ"פ שאין מקום לשקו"ט אם קיימו כבר מצות פרי' ורבי' אז מהו ההכרח לעוד ילד וכו' – מצוה הראשונה בתורה היא "פרו ורבו" עד ש"ומלאו את הארץ וכבשוה"! ופסק-דין בהלכה הוא שכל ילד הוא 'עולם מלא"! ואפי' אם יש טעם אמיתי למה לדחות א"ז – יש לסמוך בזה על הקב"ה שהוא "עצם הטוב", ומשגיח בהשגחה פרטית על כל אחד ואחת שכ"א מהם הוא "עולם מלא" (במכ"ש וק"ו מהשגח"פ אפי' על עלה שנפלה מאילן וכו'), ואין להתערב בזה ח"ו (אא"כ ישנו פס"ד ברור בתורה). 2) על רחל נאמר שבשעת הגאולה היא תתבשר עלי' – "מנעי קולך מבכי .. ושבו בנים לגבולם", כשכר ע"ז שבדרכם לגלות עברו בנ"י את קברה והיא נתנה להם את הכח לעבור את הגלות ולהישאר בריאים ושלימים ברוחניות, והיא זו שממשיכה ומבקשת מהקב"ה על הגאולה שלימה במהרה בימינו ממש. ג' חלקים משיחת ו' תשרי ה'תשמ"א ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=02-11-2025 Synopsis (1) The Torah describes the mesiras-nefesh Rochel had in order to have a son; as discussed many times, even if one has already fulfilled the mitzvah of peru u’revu, there is no room for debate as to whether they should have more children: the first mitzvah in the Torah is to “Be fruitful and multiply,” and to the point of “filling the earth and subduing it.” And it is a ruling in halacha that every child is a complete world. Even where there is a legitimate reason to delay it, one must rely on Hashem, Who is the essence of good and Who oversees every person, each of whom is a “complete world,” with Hashgacha Pratis (as is obvious from the fact that Hashem oversees even the way a leaf rolls over in the street etc.), and one must not interfere chas v’shalom (unless there is a clear halachic ruling permitting it).     יום ועש"ק פ' לך לך, ט' מרחשון, ה'תשפ"ו

    התוכן עמ"ש בזהר פ' תזריע שר' אלעזר ור' אבא הלכו בדרך ופתח ר' אלעזר ודרש עה"פ [בראשון דפ' לך לך] "אמרי נא אחותי את" וכו', מסביר אאמו"ר הטעם שדרש על פסוק זה דוקא, כי ר' אלעזר ור' אבא הם בדוגמת אברהם ושרה (חכמה ובינה), ולכן בהליכתם בדרך דרש על פסוק זה המדבר בהליכת אברהם ושרה בדרך. ויש לבאר גם שייכות הענינים בתוכן, ובהקדמה: אע"פ שהליכת אברהם ושרה בדרך היתה כפשוטו (כידוע הסיפור בימי הרשב"א בקשר לזה), יש לדעת שכ"ז הוא "גופי תורה", ויש גם "נשמתא דאורייתא", פנימיות הדברים: מטרת ופנימיות הכוונה בהליכת אברהם ושרה (חכמה ובינה) בדרך היתה כדי לברר הניצוצי קדושה שבכסף וזהב וכו' של מצרים ולהעלותם לארץ ישראל, לקדושה, "למען ייטב לי בעבורך". ועד"ז היתה הכוונה בהליכת ר"א ור"א בדרך (אע"פ שר' אלעזר הי' "תורתו אומנתו" וכן ר' אבא שהתחבר אליו, ואיך הפסיקו ויצאו לדרך? אלא) שהיו מוכרחים לצאת מביהמ"ד כדי לברר הניצוצי קדושה שבדרך. ‏ב' חלקים מהתוועדות מוצש"פ תזו"מ ה'תשל"ט ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=31-10-2025 Synopsis The Zohar states on parashas Tazria that Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba were once traveling, when Rabbi Elazar expounded on the verse (at the beginning of parashas Lech Lecha), “Please say that you are my sister…”. My father explains that the reason Rabbi Elazar expounded specifically on this verse is because Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba correspond to Avraham and Sarah (Chochmah and Binah). Therefore, when they were traveling, he expounded upon this verse, which talks about Avraham and Sarah traveling. We can explain that there is also a thematic connection between the journey of Avraham and Saraha and the journey of Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba, by way of introduction: We know that while Avraham and Sarah’s journey took place physically (the body of Torah), there is also a deeper meaning (the soul of Torah): the inner purpose of Avraham and Sarah’s journey was to refine the sparks of holiness contained in the silver and gold of Egypt and to elevate them to holiness (“Eretz Yisroel), as alluded to in the verse, “…so that it may go well with me because of you.” Similarly, this was the intent Rabbi Elazar and Rabbi Abba’s journey: Although “Torah was their sole occupation” (and therefore they would not ordinarily interrupt their learning for travel), they were compelled to leave the beis midrash in order to refine the sparks of holiness along the way. 2 excerpts from farbrengen of Motzaei Shabbos parashas Tazria-Metzora 5739 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=31-10-2025 לזכות ר' לוי הלוי בן לאה שי' לרפואה שלימה נדבת משפחתו שי'

    יום ה' פ' לך לך, ח' מרחשון, ה'תשפ"ו

    התוכן החינוך שהורים נותנים לילד (או המחנך) מבוסס על שני הפכיים: מצד אחד קובעים בנפשו עקרונות ויסודות שמהם אין לזוז בכל מקום ובכל זמן – בנוגע לבני אדם בכלל אלה הם עקרונות הצדק והיושר וכו', ובנוגע לישראל בפרט – האמונה האיתנה בה' אחד ובתורתו, ש"זאת התורה לא תהי' מוחלפת" וכו'. ומצד שני מדגישים לו שאין לעמוד במקום אחד אלא שחייבים לשגשג ולגדול, וזה גופא – שצריך להשתנות תמיד ולעלות בקודש – הוא יסוד תמידי. גם, יש להרגיל את הילד שהוא עומד על יסוד חזק – הוא בן אברהם יצחק ויעקב והיא בת שרה רבקה רחל ולאה – אותם אבות ואמהות של כל ישראל! כדי לנטוע רגש זה בילדים חייבים המחנכים להיות "דוגמא חי'" ולהתנהג בעצמם בהתאם לכך, ולזכור שהילד שם לב להכל, ושהוא לא מבין שיש הבדל בין "קלה" לחמורה" (אע"פ שנקראים כך עפ"י תורה)... ג' חלקים משיחת יום ג' פ' ברכה, וא"ו תשרי ה'תשד"מ ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=30-10-2025 Synopsis A child’s education is based on two opposites: On the one hand, the child is instilled with steadfast principles and foundations from which he must never depart, such as (for humanity in general) the principles of justice and uprightness and (for Jews in particular) the steadfast faith in Hashem and His Torah, and the fact that “this Torah will not be changed” etc. On the other hand, the child is instilled with the obligation to constantly grow and ascend in holiness, which is itself a constant foundation. The child must also be trained to recognize that he stands upon a strong foundation, as a son of Avrohom, Yitzchok, and Yaakov, and daughter of Sarah, Rivkah, Rochel, and Leah – the Avos and Imahos of all Jews in all generations.     התוכן [המשך] מכיון שבקשת צרכיו מה' הוא מ"ע מן התורה, ואסור לאדם לצער את גופו – כיצד מותרים אלו שגרים בסמיכות לירושלים לדחות את שאלת הגשמים שצריכים מיד אחרי החג (בודאות) – בגלל הדאגה לטובת ה"אחרון בישראל" (מצד הספק)?! והביאור: כאשר יהודי חדור ברגש של אהבת ישראל כדרוש – הרי בידעו שקיימת אפשרות ש"אחרון שבישראל" יצטער על הגשם – לא יתכן שירגיש צורך בירידת גשמים להשקות את שדותיו, ולא יתכן שיהנה מזה! ובמילא אינו חייב לבקש על זה ואינו מצטער ע"ז שאינו יכול לשאול גשמים, ואדרבה – אילו היו יורדים גשמים לפני ז' חשון הי' מצטער בגלל צערו של ה"אחרון בישראל"! רגש זה של אהבת ישראל שייך לכאו"א מישראל, שלכן הדין שאין שואלים גשמים בא"י לפני ז' חשון הוא פס"ד ברור בשו"ע; כאשר יתכן ש"אחרון בישראל" יצטער על כך שיעצרנו הגשם – ברור הדבר שאצל כאו"א מישראל יתבטל כל הרצון והצורך בירידת גשמים לפני ז' חשון! משיחת אור ליום ג' פ' לך לך, ז' מרחשון ה'תשמ"ו ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=29-10-2025 Synopsis (Continued.) Since requesting one’s needs from Hashem is a positive mitzvah of the Torah, and a person is forbidden to afflict his body, how is it permitted for those living near Yerushalayim to postpone their request for rain (which they definitely need), out of concern that rain might hinder the journey of the last Jew returning home (which is only a possibility)? The answer is that when a Jew is imbued with true Ahavas Yisroel, the knowledge that there is even a possibility that the last Jew returning home might suffer discomfort from the rain makes it impossible for him to feel a need for rain to water his fields. Therefore, he is not obligated to ask for rain, and he feels no distress from not asking for it. On the contrary, if rain were to fall before 7 Cheshvan, he would be distressed from the distress of the last Jew returning home. And because this feeling of Ahavas Yisroel is possible for every Jew, it was established as law that one does not request rain in Eretz Yisroel before 7 Cheshvan.     יום ג' פ' לך לך, ו' מרחשון, ה'תשפ"ו

    התוכן ארץ ישראל צריכה גשמים מיד אחר חג הסוכות, ומ"מ מתחילים לשאול גשמים שם רק מז' מרחשון, ט"ו יום אחר החג, "כדי שיגיע האחרון שבישראל שעלה לרגל, לביתו לנהר פרת, שהוא מקום ישוב היותר רחוק מירושלים, ולא יעצרנו הגשם" [אדה"ז בשו"ע]. ובזה מודגשת הענין דאחדות ישראל: שאלת גשמים מיד אחרי החג היא צורך חיוני ביותר לקיומו של האדם, ולאידך, טובתו של "אחרון שבישראל" שלא ירדו גשמים עד שיגיע לביתו "שלא יעצרנו הגשם" אינו אלא ענין של נוחיות בלבד, ואעפ"כ מתאחדים כל בנ"י בא"י ומאחרים את שאלת הגשמים ט"ו יום כדי שה"אחרון שבישראל" יוכל להגיע לביתו בנוחיות! אע"פ שמצות עשה מן התורה לבקש צרכיו מה', וכמו"כ "אין לאדם רשות על גופו כלל . . לצערו בשום צער", כי "אין נפשו של אדם קנינו אלא קנין הקב"ה"! [המשך יבוא] ב' חלקים משיחת אור ליום ג' פ' לך לך, ז' מרחשון ה'תשמ"ו ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=28-10-2025 Synopsis Although Eretz Yisroel needs rain immediately after Sukkos, the inhabitants of the land do not begin asking for rain until 7 Marcheshvan – fifteen days after Sukkos ends, “so that the last of the Jews who made their way up [to Yerushalayim] for the pilgrimage could return to their homes on the Euphrates River – the most distant settlement from Yerushalayim – without being impeded by rain” (Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch). This emphasizes Jewish unity, because although asking rain is a vital necessity, whereas the concern of “the last of the Jews” being impeded by rain is merely a matter of convenience, nevertheless, all the Jews in Eretz Yisroel unite in delaying their request for rain by fifteen days, so that the last of the Jews could reach his home with ease.     יום ב' פ' לך לך, ה' מרחשון, ה'תשפ"ו

    התוכן סיום שלישי דפ' לך לך הוא: "ויאהל אברם ויבוא וישב באלוני ממרא אשר בחברון ויבן שם מזבח לה'". והנה בניית מזבח זה בחברון (שה' מזבח השלישי שבנה) היתה מפני היותו "מקום שהמליכו בו דוד ושם כרתו ברית" (מדרש הגדול), שמלכות בית דוד היא מלכות נצחית באופן של כריתת ברית ע"י התאחדות כל בנ"י בחברון להמליכו עליהם עד עולם – עד הגאולה האמיתית והשלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו שיהי' מ"בית דוד", וכמו שאומרים בקידוש לבנה "דוד מלך ישראל חי וקיים". ונמצא דאברהם קישר את בניית מזבח [שבזה בא לידי ביטוי כללות עבודת אברהם אבינו, שהרי כללות ענין העבודה היא עבודת הקרבנות על מזבח] השלישי [סיום וחותם עבודתו] עם משיח צדקנו! וזוהי ההוראה הנפלאה: כל עניני העבודה בזמן הגלות צריכים להיות קשורים וחדורים עם תוכן הענין דמלכות בית דוד, דוד מלכא משיחא! ב' חלקים משיחת אור לז' מר-חשון ה'תשמ"ו ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=27-10-2025 Synopsis Shelishi of Lech Lecha concludes with the verse, “Avram set up tents, and came and settled in Elonei Mamre which is in Chevron, and he built a mizbeach to Hashem there.” The Midrash says that he built this mizbeach (the third mizbeach he built) because Chevron is “the place where they crowned Dovid as king, and they established a covenant there” (Midrash HaGadol). Dovid’s kingship is eternal, with the force of a covenant made the entire Jewish people united in Chevron until the true and complete Redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu, who will be from the House of Dovid. And as we say in Kiddush Levanah, “Dovid, king of the Jewish people, lives and endures.” Thus, Avraham linked the building of his third mizbeach (which represents the culmination of Avraham’s entire divine service) to Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
