श्री रामेश्वरम ज्योतिर्लिंग | Shri Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga

महादेव के बारह ज्योतिर्लिंग में ग्यारहवाँ है रामेश्वरम ज्योतिर्लिंग मंदिर। यह स्थित है तमिलनाडु के रमनाथम में। यह मंदिर 15 एकड़ ज़मीन पर फैला हुआ है। इसके गोपुरम बहुत  ऊंचे है। इसके इर्द गिर्द 4,000 फुट का  गलियारा  हैं, जिसमे 4,000 नक्काशीदार ग्रेनाइट के खंभे हैं - यह  दुनिया का सबसे लंबा गलियारा है।

रामेश्वरम मंदिर के अंदर कुल 22 कुंड हैं . इन्हें 22 तीर्थों के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। कहा जाता है कि जब भगवान श्रीराम ने इन कुडों की स्थापना की थी तो इन कुंडों में अलग-अलग तीर्थों के जल लाकर डाले गए थे।  इसीलिए यहां आकर सभी लोग इन कुंडों के जल से स्नान को अत्यधिक महत्व देते हैं और यही कारण है कि इससे 22 तीर्थों का स्नान भी कहा जाता है।

यह भारत का सबसे दक्षिणी ज्योतिर्लिंग है।

आइये अब सुनते हैं इस मंदिर से जुडी पौराणिक कथा।

Rameswaram Jyotirlinga Temple is the 11th among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Mahadev. It is located in Ramanatham, Tamil Nadu. This temple is spread over 15 acres of land. It's gopurams are very tall. Surrounding it is a 4,000-foot corridor with 4,000 carved granite pillars – the longest corridor in the world.

There are a total of 22 kunds inside the Rameshwaram temple. They are also known as 22 pilgrimages. It is said that when Lord Shriram established these kunds, water from different pilgrimages was brought and poured into these kunds. That is why all the people coming here give utmost importance to bathing with the water of these kunds and this is the reason why it is also called bathing of 22 pilgrimages. This is the southernmost Jyotirlinga of India.
