    Aptos Odyssey—Navigating the Move Frontie

Welcome to the podcast channel of the Fudan Blockchain Association. In this podcast series, we will continue to bring you conversations between blockchain participants from Chinese universities and OG in Web3. In today's episode, we are pleased to bring you an exclusive conversation with David@david_wolinsky,a core developer at Aptos. Aptos is one of the most anticipated Layer 1 blockchains, known for its speed, reliability, and scalability. Members of the Fudan Blockchain Association joined David to discuss the intricacies of Aptos, its innovative Move programming language, and the booming ecosystem in the Chinese-speaking region. In addition, we would like to thank the Alcove community for their support in helping with this podcast. 00:17 Introduction Part Ⅰ 02:10 0xshawn- How is Move designed to be significantly different from other blockchain programming languages (e.g., Solidity, Rust)? How does Move help developers reduce vulnerabilities in contract security? 09:34 0xshawn- Modular design is especially important when building complex applications on Aptos. What are the key design tools and patterns provided by Aptos for developers who want to develop modular smart contracts? 13:23 0xshawn- How is the storage layer of Aptos designed? How can developers optimize the data storage efficiency of their DApps under high-frequency data access and storage operations? (Merkle tree, parallel execution engine Block-STM) 22:41 0xshawn- Does Aptos currently have any cross-chain solutions or plans? For applications that need to interact across multiple chains, how should developers design to ensure compatibility and interoperability? (Wormhole, l0, etc.) Part Ⅱ 25:21 Davion- We have recently observed that the Sui ecosystem, also a Move-based public blockchain, is quite hot in the Chinese-speaking regions and was often seen during Shanghai Blockchain Week last week. On the other hand, we noticed that Aptos seemed a little bland, and currently it was mostly being developed by communities like Alcove in the Chinese-speaking area. As builders in China, we are curious: what will be the subsequent development plan of Aptos in the Chinese-speaking region? 29:53 Davion- We are also concerned that the Ankaa Accelerator, created by the Aptos Foundation, OKX, and Alcove, was unveiled at Token2049 Singapore, and the accelerator is very friendly to the Chinese-speaking developer teams. Do you think Ankaa has the potential to become the superteam of Aptos in the APAC region and even more in the global ecosystem?
