Centennial Songs - The Antique Phonograph Music Program with Mac | WFMU

I have been interested in pre 1920 music for about 10 years now and it definitely isn’t commonplace. Much of it is forgotten, and this podcast provides some info! However, due to the internet it is much easier to learn about the music and therefore I haven’t learned too much from this podcast I didn’t know. Not everything about this era is online, no where near it, so what is there and is significant will undoubtedly make it’s rounds. This is a nice collection of info for sure. Nothing against it though, and in my opinion perfect for someone just getting into 1900-1919 music.

1 song... 100 years old... nice background info prior to dropping the needle. I always learn something new. Very informative way to hear these old recordings in context.

I used to listen to the old Antique Phonograph Music Program with MAC. The merging of these two disc jockeys brings some interesting and informative back and forth banter. I really love the new show!
