    081: Owning Our Stories: A conversation with Lindsay Helm

    Lindsay is an ex convert of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), also known as the Mormon church. She obtained her bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University--Idaho, where she met her husband. They were later married in the Columbia River Washington LDS Temple in Richland, Washington. Together, they started their family and left the LDS church, starting life anew.     079: Surviving Loss Series - For When You've Lost a Sense of Home

    Today we’re chatting all about the loss of home— both the literal loss of a physical home due to financial reasons or a natural disaster, as well as the loss of home in a figurative sense because of moving. As always, I’m in this with you, so I share several times in my life that I’ve experienced a loss of home, both literally and figuratively. Every time that this has happened in my life, it’s impacted me differently— sometimes, the loss was felt immediately and I experienced a lot of anxiety, whereas other times the loss wasn’t felt until later. Regardless, it can be so tough to lose your sense of home because it’s one of the foundational pieces of our lives. So, listen in for some tips on how to best support yourself in this season.     078: Surviving Loss Series - For When You Lost a Friendship

    We’re kicking off our survival series with a deep dive on friendship. In this episode, I share some examples of losing friends in my life, such as having a blow out and ending things, naturally growing apart and moving on, navigating a tragic event that redefines a friendship, and taking temporary friendship breaks because of different priorities, values, geography, etc. It’s tough, but not every single friend you’ve got is going to be in your life forever, and that’s okay. That said, we also just can’t expect our friends to always be there if we’re not being intentional and present in the relationship. So, listen in for some tactical ways that we can foster our friendships AND decide if we want to end a friendship.     077: Introducing How to Survive Loss Series

    Today I’m really excited to introduce a new series that we’ll be chatting about on the podcast, which is how to survive loss. And I don’t just mean loss in the sense of death; loss, according to the dictionary, is so much more than that. It also could mean the loss of self, normalcy, lifestyle, a job, a friendship, a habit, a home, etc. Regardless of what you’ve lost, it can be really tough and I want you to know that however you’re feeling about it is valid. As someone who has experienced a lot of different kinds of loss in my life, I know firsthand that loss can be so painful, but it can also be an important catalyst to begin anew.  If you, as a listener of the podcast, want to come onto the show to talk about your loss, please reach out to me.
