This is the problem with podcasts that invite the writers and producers and actors on the show; they’re afraid to criticize. I like the back and forth dialogue and dissection, and the attention to detail. It’s nice to listen to a podcast that pays attention and enhances your enjoyment. But these guys are so sycophantic. Every episode they say, “oh I just loooove this episode oooh.” I get a sense that they’re afraid to actually criticize anything. Even when they point out plot points that are obviously ridiculous, they walk on eggshells and give it a pass with a hand wave. Other podcasts are more balanced. You can be a fan of something without fawning over it and worshipping it. Give some real critique. Stop sucking up so much! Twelve Monkeys is just ok and is full of cliches, and I feel that the show uses time travel as an excuse to constantly bring back dead characters and indulge in rediculous plot points. Waiving off obvious paradoxes that make no sense while simultaneously taking cause and effect so seriously. And these guys who comment on the show just suck up so much. Watch other podcasts where the show is not afraid to provide valid criticism or express disappointment with episodes that are not on point. Instead, here, you get sycophancy. Come on guys. And lastly, don’t do a podcast if you’ve already seen the entire seasons. You give away spoilers. You can’t provide honest predictions and speculation and things that viewers like to engage in. If you’ve seen the show, it’s constantly “oh that will make ended when you see the next episode.” Or “I’m not going to spoil anything,” but you do spoil things because you’ve seen the show, so we pick up on the spoilers. It was better when you were watching along with the audience, but in the final season you guys just couldn’t help yourselves and you watched the whole show and then your reporting on episodes and say “oh yea I had forgotten about that plot point but after watching the whole show it makes sense now.” Come on guys. That’s cool if it’s a rewatch podcast with viewers who already saw the show like you did. Anyway, I appreciate your show though. You had good intentions. I love sci fi. I’m ok with being nerdy. Just be mindful next time to think of the viewers, and be more objective and entertaining, not a sycophant.
