    Episode 143 - End of 2005! "Brokeback Mountain"

    For our final re-watch of the year we decided to go with the film that seems to drive the conversation from 2005, Ang Lee's beautiful classic "Brokeback Mountain." We discuss if this was the true Best Picture of the year, or if it perhaps was another. One thing is for sure, it wasn't Crash. Along with some new beers, fun trivia, and a nice realization that the films of 05 are behind us, we think you will enjoy this last foray into that year as much as we did recording it.     Episode 142 - Best Picture "Crash"?!

    We have mercifully come to the last two episodes of the year, and in this one we switch up the tradition of ending the year on the Best Picture winner, because we all know this was NOT the best picture of 2005... but we still push through for our fans though! In this episode we discuss 2005's "Crash" along with the many ways it is inferior to many other films. We also talk about some fun new beers, have a guest along for most of the ride, and all in all have a ton of fun.     Episode 141 - "Munich"

    Who says Spielberg can't do comedy? Wait...wrong movie... On this new episode we cover the movie that somehow perfectly encapsulates the year of 2005 in movies. Starts out with promise, has some really great moments, but falls flat and in the end leaves you awkwardly sweating and crying in bed. You may already see where this one is going, but in this episode we discuss 2005's Best Picture nominated Spielberg film, "Munich." We may not have loved it, but we loved recording and the new beers that we had along the way.     Episode 140 - "King Kong"

    Another adaptation episode, except this one we LOVE! In the early 2000's Peter Jackson could do no wrong, and he proves it here with a timely update that still feels faithful to it's source in 2005's King Kong. It's long, but worth it as they say, and so is this episode. Along with rewatching the Director's Cut, we enjoy four or five beers, stump each other with fun trivia, and have a lot of laughs along the way.     Episode 139 - "Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe"

    Coming closer and closer to our rewatches of 2005 films brings us to another legendary book series adapted into a film... not Harry Potter, or Lord of the Rings, but the other one in The Chronicles of Narnia. This one is not what it wanted to be, but it works for our Christmas episodes of 2025 and we stuck with it! The film is more than just the relaunch of Robert Downey Jr's career, it stands as a wonderful addition to the obscure Christmas film genre, and we cannot recommend it enough.     Did we record this episode in October? Yes, yes we did. But who cares cause it is out now!  After playing some catch up, we are back to a regular schedule and that begins with the release of the end of year episodes from 2025.  First is this episode where we contractually discuss a Steven Spielberg film, in 2005's "War of the Worlds." We take another jump back to 20 years ago and rewatch Ron Howard's boxing movie "Cinderella Man" and enjoy some fun with a fellow podcaster as well.
