I'll touch base with the project manager to follow up on whether the system is ready for deployment.

touch base這個詞來自於棒球，指觸摸壘包，但在職場上卻是指跟某人聯絡、確認的意思，後面加上with和你要聯絡的人。follow up是跟追某件事情的進度，後面加上on再加上要跟追的事情。Deployment是產品佈署、應用、上線運作的意思，例如軟體、設備的布建也叫做deployment。
