There’s nothing quite like a soccer goal.

As the 22nd Men's World Cup approaches in November 2022, this podcast takes a look back at the history of the World Cup, through the lens of 22 of the most iconic goals ever scored in the greatest sporting event on earth.

Listen along as The Ringer’s Brian Phillips leads you on a breathless tour of nearly a century of World Cup history—from triumphs to tragedies, and everything in between.

This is not a soccer podcast, it’s a history book on a rocket ship to the moon. (OK, fine, it is technically also a soccer podcast.)

22 Goals is also available in Spanish and Portuguese.

    3 | Kylian Mbappé (2018)

100/10

Absolutely loved this show from the very beginning to the very end!! The highlights of this was how funny they made it, the cool and interesting facts, and how it makes you did on the edge of your seat in anticipation. Sad to see it end to early but I’ll probably keep re listen to this until the next World Cup comes out.

Nitpickers FC ,

It’s “Mah-Rah-doh-nah”

Love the show but it was like a sharp jab to the heart every time I heard the host pronounce Maradona like Cappadonna.

Mah-rah-doh-nah.

He does so well with other players or places like Villa Fiorito! But then to do god himself
like that.

It would be like pronouncing Zidane as “Zi-Dane.”

Html kind ,

Captivating, entertaining, funny

Just a soccer mom who doesn’t know much about soccer history. I enjoyed every episode!
