This is a great show. Very civilized for a podcast on profanity. I really hope to see Matt continue the series.

I’ve always been interested in the history of profanity so I’m loving this!

It's very cool that *someone* has put together details of these things. I've always wondered about etymology of some of the "big ones". Has all that and more. Things like how C* used to be a powerful, positive thing and the old stories you heard about how F*CK is an acronym are a load of crap.

Not a topic I would have expected to be fascinated by but this one has me hooked. Credit due to Matt who really produces amazingly entertaining and informative episodes. I especially loved the foreign language episode and, in fact, went back to listen to it again. That's awesome stuff.

I enjoy the history lessons & great research provided with the entertainment of “taboo” words used in different cultures. Quite enjoyable. Thanks!!

I love this podcast, very different, and really dives into where cuss words came from and why some people have their panties in a bunch. Great show!

This podcast is fantastic. The critical analysis on why some words are bad, how they got that way, and our reactions - and overreactions - to those bad words is engaging and a pleasure to listen to. Keep them coming!

It's a neat podcast but you really shouldn't take everything here as fact due to it pushing a specific viewpoint. The big one is a bit on why mf (and other mother related swears) is such a powerful curse. The episode does a shpiel about why mothers are sacred and how it's a insult for a man dominated sociaty (a femenist viewpoint) yet doesn't mention the true reason why it's such a good insult... It's cause it's a insult directed to the one person who truely cares about us most of us, the person most responsible for shaping us, a person that would do anything to help us, our Moms.
