Each week we will bring you culture, Blackness from a working-class perspective, a political candidate that we support and how you can get involved, a book to read that will help you grow, learn, or understand something in a new way.

    These Are Dark Days 🌩

    Sorry, It's been a while. Kiba and Ellyn recorded a show in June, but it didn't feel right without our matriarch. We are back now that Pamalar has returned from galavanting around Europe. We discuss the SCOTUS 💩 storm that has rained down on us, including the overturning of Roe V Wade, our first G (Pamalar) has seen Roe from conception until its recent abortion by the SCOTUS; Miranda Rights are practically a thing of the past. Though the episode is entitled dark days, we (progressive voters) are the light at the end of this dark tunnel. Now more than ever, we must vote as if our lives depend on it, as they very well may. Our democracy is in our hands; as imperfect as it is, we must protect it if we ever wish to perfect it. VOTE!!!

    President Zelensky, The Bad Ass 🇺🇦🧔🏻‍♂️

    This week we get into the Fog of War, i.e., Russia's unjust, immoral, illegal war in and against Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelensky was the leader Ukraine needed, and no one knew he was this capable. RT (Russia Today) Russia's state-run propaganda was finally removed from YouTube. No money mo problems, EU, US, and NATO nations enact sanctions against Russians in power and their families around the globe. Michigan is making it rain 💰. Murderers of black men face justice. Hateful bills meant to harm LGBTQIA+ children and families have become law around the country. What's good in Detroit: So It begins, selecting Detroit's reparations task force. Book of the week: Love Letters To A Narcissist: A Cautionary Book of Poems. Ellyn reads a poem from her book and a poem. Our candidate of the week is, Detroit's own, Rashida Tlaib! Ellyn closes out the show with Aum Namah Śivaya.

    This week is a barn burner. First, it is the end of Roe v Wade, i.e., the right to legal, safe abortion. Next, Ellyn gives the Democrats a battle cry for election messaging this year and beyond, and then she proceeds to lose her sh!t over the unmasked superspreader White House Correspondents Dinner. Then, we talk about Kap's possible return to the NFL, the famine in Africa that no one is talking about, and how you can help. Our candidate for the week is Marcus Flowers. Finally, our book of the week is Elie Mystal's excellent book; Allow Me To Retort: A Black Guys Guide To The Constitution.
