    Time to SWOT Yourself!

    Time to SWOT Yourself!

Season 2, Bonus Episode from Monday Morning Jumpstart

The more you know who you are (vision and values), the better you will know where you are and the greater the impact you can and will have on the relationships and world around you.

Without a clear vision and core values, it becomes hard to find our direction in life.

There are 3 kinds of people who are trying to find direction…

    1. People who don't know what they would like to do - Confused!

    2. People who know what they want to do, but don't do it - Frustrated!

    3. People who know what they want to do and do it - Fulfilled!

The way to know what we want is to first know who we are!

Part of knowing who we are is understanding our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats or roadblocks.

When is the last time you took a Personal SWOT Assessment? To maximize growth in our lives we should all take a personal SWOT yearly. SWOT allows us to continually clarify those things that are important to us and make sure we have what we need to keep growing

Take a quick SWOT - List your

    STRENGTH's

    WEAKNESS's

    OPPORTUNITIES

    THREAT/ROADBLOCKS

    One Thing or Many Things?

    One Thing or Many Things?

    Season 2, Episode 1

Do you find yourself at the end of the day evaluating your success for that day based on the number of things you accomplished?  What if you accomplished many things but did not accomplish that one thing you really needed to get done?  Would you still consider your day a success?

What keeps you from that One Thing that you really desire to do or accomplish?  For many of us, it is the tyranny of the urgent that always seems to be pressing in on us.  The truth is that there is always something urgent or important that needs to be dealt with.  Which one gets our attention... it is the one that is the loudest or most immediate.  When we don't establish the most important thing, someone else will.

Here is the most important question you can ask yourself when setting your priorities for the day or week or month...  Looking at all you have to do, all that is on your list, ask yourself this one question.  If I was only able to get one thing done today, what would that one thing be?  That one thing that if I accomplished it I would be able to say I was successful today!  Once you have established that one thing, ask yourself the same question 2 more times.  You know have your top three priorities for your day.  Once you set your priorities you need to set the strategy to get them done.

In today's podcast, we talk about how to identify and build a strategy to accomplish the one thing that is most important to accomplish in order for you to succeed that day, week, or month.

I Know You Hear Me, But Are You Listening?

I Know You Hear Me, But Are You Listening?

    Season 1, Episode 35

The greatest need we have when communicating is to be heard and understood!  To understand what someone is saying requires our listening.  Hearing and listening are not the same!  Just because we hear someone talking, doesn't mean we are actually listening.

Have you ever had someone say to you (maybe a child?)... "You are not listening!"  Unfortunately, I have heard this all too often from my children and on occasion from my wife.  Hearing is about volume and projection, listening is about understanding.  Listening is not about having an answer or solving a problem.  Listening involves feeling, emotion, and connection.

In today's episode, we will discuss the difference between hearing and listening and some practical steps we can take to become better listeners.  When we become better listeners we become better leaders!

    The Power of Forgiveness

    The Power of Forgiveness

    Season 1, Episode 34

Principles are those things that are true.  They do not depend on our belief in them and they do not change because of belief, culture, language, or geography.  Principles are always true but how they are lived out in our lives is unique.  Today we are going to talk about one of those principles that when lived out in our lives, has the power to change everything and bring real freedom to our lives emotionally and relationally.

Life is all about relationships.  Relationships are both a source of great joy and love as well as great challenge and frustration.  As long as we are living, we will have the great pleasure of working through and engaging in relationships.  When relationships are strong and healthy, there is nothing better, but what happens when an important relationship becomes challenged or broken?

In today's episode, we will talk about the pain of broken relationships and the power of forgiveness in bringing healing and freedom.  It is absolutely easier said than done, but the potential restoration of the relationship is worth it.  There is power in forgiveness, but forgiveness is not about the other person, it is about you, your heart, and your freedom.

I hope you find some freedom in today's message!

Thanks for choosing to be part of this community of everyday leaders and entrepreneurs.  We are living our life out loud and in community together.  We are perfectly imperfect people going through and going up!

    Finish Well!

    Finish Well!

How we finish one thing is how we enter the next!

How do we finish 2019 in strength so we can enter 2020 with a purpose!  It begins with a simple intentional step each day.  It starts with breathing.  It may sound simple, in fact you are doing it as you read this and listen to this podcast.  but when you stop and take a few deep breathes you rush oxygen to your bloodstream which stimulates your mind and wakes up your body.  You can also take control of your calendar.  When you do and take control of your life!

To finish well is to rise above the chaos of the moment.  Chaos is part of life but how we engage the chaos is critical to our sanity and success.
