    🔒 LOCKED IN 🔒

EPISODE 7: LOCKED IN 🔒 Decision Making, Focus and Conditioning Getting locked in is one thing. Staying there and finding your way back when you lose it is something completely different. In this episode, @mouthpiecesam gets honest about one of the biggest things holding him back on the pickleball court: focus. To help him better understand his game and what keeps him from staying locked in, Sam turns to three people who know him extremely well: 🏓 Cousin Adam, his partner and the person least afraid to tell him the truth 🏓 JT “The Volley Llama” Nerio, coach, Jedi and master of the mental game 🏓 RJ O’Malley, fierce competitor, 5.0 player and the opponent who helped expose what happens when Sam loses focus The crew breaks down real audio from a match in which Sam and Vuong Vo led eight to two before everything fell apart. They examine the talking, negative self talk, fatigue, wasted movement and the exact moment the momentum changed. They also discuss ADHD, distractions, partner communication, pre serve routines, staying present and why every player needs their own version of a mouthpiece. Locking in does not mean maintaining perfect focus. It means recognizing when you have lost it and learning how to lock back in. Debbie recalls body bagging Aunt Shelle on the very first point, the Banger Sisters imagine what their friendship would have looked like at 21 and Sam reveals the hilariously embarrassing thing he said after playing with Debbie for the first time. 🙈 Underneath all the laughs is a conversation about kindness, staying young, showing up for your people and what it truly means to be an auntie.
