Beacon of Light Podcast is for Authors (fiction, non-fiction, children's books, etc.) who write books about hope. Hope is a Beacon of Light to the world. I amplify that hope from authors to all of you. I published my memoir, "Pinpoints of Light: Escaping the Abyss of Abuse," connecting with women who had similar stories. They wanted out of DV but needed hope. I wrote my second book, "Out of Darkness: Find, Fuel, and Live in Your Light," to heal and the Podcast was born!     Can a Fiction Book Help Your Mental Health?

    If circumstance gave you power and purpose, what would you do? My name is Chris Schallert, and writing helped me to overcome my incredible shyness by helping me to create a character named Cadence Colo. His story is in my book Mathers Odds. I started the book with the question, “If I had the power to overcome my limits, and if the object of my affection was even inclined toward me, would this be different?” The power that Candence gave me to help me overcome my mental health challenges was incredible.
