60 Second Sunday Sermons The Preacher

Friends, I am so sorry to be away from you. I am still in the heart of West Virginia. I have met so many that want to spread the light of our lord and fight the darkness. I spent Labor Day weekend with a lovely family who blessed me with hospitality and light.

But, I am afraid that even with the abundance of light, darkness has made it's way to us. Those who have foresaken our lord have taken to the streets with violence, theft and debauchery.

We must fight the urge to abandon the light of our lord in favor of the darkness. I have been fighting the last few days, I need your help no more than ever.

May the lord give us the strength to carry forward.

Friends, today I come from you just outside my home town in West Virginia. The Van of Light is officially on the road and it seems none too soon. As I sit, I notice the decay of fallen leaves, black and diseased because they've been touched by the darkness.

But, while I see the signs of darkness, I shall not follow for I am guided only by our Lord and Saviour. Only He can show me the path to find and destroy the book of darkness.

Friends, I have a confession to make. I have been weak. For the last few weeks, I have failed God's many tests because I know that once I start this journey, I will be forced to face my greatest fear - the darkness.

Day after day, I have used life's let little things as excuses to stay put, even though I know I must follow the path God has chosen for me.

I spent all day in solitude, praying that God forgive me, and to give me the strength to do what I must do. Now, not only has God given me the strength I need, but a new, bolder path.

I will find the Book of Darkness before Wally Fitch, and destroy it, preventing it's dark power from taking us.

Please pray for me.

It is no coincidence that as some forsake our Lord, temperatures rise and fires rage out of control.

Make no mistake, Fire and heat have boiled over from Hell to consume each and every one of us. You can't run, and you can't hide. It will find you and take your soul.

The only way to escape the fire of darkness is by letting the baptismal waters cleanse your soul with the light of our lord. Only He can protect you, but you must accept Christ into your heart before it's too late.

Sort of a Call to action, sermon, warning.

Friends, it is not a matter of if, but when the darkness will arrive. I can already feel the evil seeping into our lives.

There are those among us who would have you believe there must be a balance of good and evil, but we must remember what is true, and not be swayed by the false prophets who mix lies with the truth.

I call upon you today to pray for our victory in stopping the darkness and those who bring the darkness to our doorstep. It is only when we give ourselves fully to the Lord will we be triumphant in our battle against the evil forces that will undoubtedly do us harm.

May God's light shine brightly upon you.

Friends, I missed you yesterday. What remained of our church collapsed late Saturday night. While our once beautiful church may be rubble, the light of the Lord shows us the path to righteousness. We will rise from the ashes and conquer Wally Fitch and the Darkness he brings.
