    75. What To Wear Postpartum & Pregnant

    I never knew what to wear while pregnant, what to buy ahead of time, what would change postpartum, and I feel like everyone said something different so I really couldn’t decide what to shop for and ended up just feeling really BLAH the whole time I was pregnant, but then felt pretty good postpartum once I did some shopping. So I do not have the answers for others since it’s true that everyone is different, but I thought it might be helpful to share what worked for me in case anyone else is trying to figure this out for themselves either with pregnancy or postpartum!     Feeding your baby is such a personal and complicated process to navigate! So many surprises and things outside of your control, so much pressure to do it a certain way from others, so time consuming at the beginning, and feels like such an important thing to get “right.”  I truly believe what is best is different for each parent and baby but I know it can help to hear other people’s experiences, so that’s what I’m sharing today!  I hope you enjoy this episode whether you are simply curious or if you are gathering info for a future child!     Welcome back to really pretty good podcast! I am so happy to finally be starting Season 3 after such a long time off, I think about 6 months off. I’ve been missing it and eager to come back but as most of you know I had a baby at the beginning of this year and so I’ve been adjusting to the huge life change and until now have felt pretty much in survival mode or like I just really needed to focus on learning how to be a mom. But I think I’m finally feeling a little bit more settled into the new life and a little bit more able to think about creative things again so I’m happy to be back to share more! And on that note I thought the perfect way to come back would be to update you on the last 6 months and share some of my postpartum experience. We left off on quite a lot of motherhood topics while I was pregnant so we are picking that back up for now but throughout this season I do plan to share a mix of both personal, motherhood journey and also some creative thoughts and commentaries on creative things happening in culture like fashion shows and trends and our usual stuff. So before I get too chatty let’s dive right into postpartum. I am planning to make this a 2 part series because as I was planning I realized I have so much to say about our breastfeeding journey that it’ll be better to make that it’s own episode for those who are interested. So in this episode I’ll focus mainly on the physical recovery, emotional and identity part of postpartum, and touch on our experience with sleep and sleep training!  So without further ado, I give thee, The first six months of my postpartum experience.

    70. Ideas for Hosting Cheap but Memorable Parties

    This is going to be the last episode of season 2 before I take a break to welcome little baby into the world. I did plan to go a few more weeks before wrapping up the season but I have realized it is getting harder and harder to have the mental capacity for everything I’m committed to at the moment so we are going to wrap up just a couple weeks early so that I can focus on the rest of our prep!  So with it being holiday season with lots of fun hosting and parties and things happening I thought a fun topic to end on would be some ideas for hosting a low cost, low stress, but memorable and fun gathering. I think hosting is one of the most fun things ever but when we see all the high end Pinterest parties on social media it becomes kind of easy to mix up priorities I think. You know I am all about aesthetics and I do think aesthetics are important and make a big difference, but what I mean by mixing up priorities I think is just that sometimes it feels like we need the really amazing expensive decor pieces in order to create an ambiance but there are actually so many great ways to make the aesthetic vibe that you want to create a really great party feel without having the Pinterest parties that act so casual about spending thousands of dollars on a small friend gathering. So I wanted to share some of my ideas that I’ve gathered over the years of hosting for what in my opinion makes a party truly memorable when you’re working with a tighter budget.
