Flowdreaming: Still Kinda Woo Woo

Summer is INCREDIBLE! I love her long-standing podcast and count the days until the next episode! Her guidance is beautiful, loving and compassionate yet direct and honest. She has such deep knowledge of so many topics and I feel like she just “gets me” - she explains things in a way that I’m like, “OMG lightbulb moment!”. 💡 I’ve been listening to her Flowdreaming podcast for years and all of them are amazing but in particular this refreshed season is pure gold. Summer is the real deal - when you listen to her podcast, it just fills you up with such positive energy and the knowledge needed to raise yourself up and raise your vibration to the next level to become an even better version of yourself. As a long-time client, I can tell you firsthand that her guidance has changed my life for the better and I’m so excited to start her Born Empath program! While I deeply appreciate what Summer is offering, if you have complex trauma, her messages can be very harmful. For example, episode 653 about the unmanifested is a recipe tor spiritual bypassing and for complex trauma survivors to feel badly about themselves. “Don’t be a negative person. Negative people attract negative things. Be positive!” This is a message in which many cults and gurus have been born. Cults that have attracted people in pain - people who don’t want to be negative, who want to be positive, but affirmations will not take you there. Mindset work alone will not heal you. And you will be gaslit if you don’t “heal” with this type of law of attraction work. Complex trauma is about neurobiology, not psychology. Please investigate the work of Gabor Mate or Prentis Hemphill and other somatic-based practitioners. There are many groups out there as well that speak to the harm this kind of work can cause trauma survivors. Summer does offer some great messages. I also agree that positivity absolutely helps healing, and fear and negativity can impede healing, but if you have complex trauma and you are starting here, don’t. Get resourced elsewhere first.
