S2E18 | Music Icon: Weird Al Yankovic

After taking his first accordion lesson at the age of six, "Weird Al" Yankovic catapulted from Lynnwood, CA to become one of the greatest parody (and accordion) artists of all time! Michael Jackson to Madonna, George Harrison to Nirvana, Weird Al flipped our perspective of cool on its head and gave us catchy, hilarious tunes that were sometimes better earworms than the originals. Just in time for this fall’s “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” and his current 2022 tour, join us as we travel back to the 80’s to commentate on the Pop Culture Commentator himself!

Momgrate ,

Really informative, entertaining, and well executed!

Ben and Chris do an amazing job of putting this podcast together and making it informative and fun.

The format is perfect for the nostalgic deep-dives, and they add just the right amount of humor and history to keep you wanting to come back for more.

Can’t wait for the new season in September!

School's Cool!

Ben and Chris bring an invigorating energy and fun format that's unique to the podcasting realm, and particularly in the niche of 80s nostalgia. But their choice of topics also show their willingness to do something different. You're not going to find the same old retreads here. These guys will remind you of so many of the great things you might have forgotten about the decade too, and you'll come away feeling fully educated on a topic and ready for the next one!

Horny Gerard ,

I tried.

I really wanted to like this show, but I was constantly noticing that the hosts were not accurate with their information. One pet peeve I have is when someone tries to portray themselves as an expert on a particular subject, but is constantly wrong.
