A Beautiful Anarchy

Hosted by photographer, author, and former comedian David duChemin, A Beautiful Anarchy is a deeply human, honest, and insightful mostly-weekly kick in the pants for anyone who longs to create anything with soul and too often finds themselves mud-wrestling with the muse to do so. A Beautiful Anarchy is a candid ongoing exploration of what it means to be an everyday creator, whether you're a writer, photographer, sculptor, or a puppeteer who works exclusively with vintage macrame owls. The struggles and rewards of bringing something new into the world are universal, and you’re not alone. Let's talk about it.

A Gift to Any Creative

This podcast is responsible for pulling me out of every creative slump I’ve been in for the past couple of years. I HATE when other people think they have the answers, generally, so it seems special. David’s clever analogies and ability to express ACCURATELY the every day trials of being a creator is astonishing and comforting. It’s incredible how 15 minutes of “just keep going” can make all the different. DC, if you’re out there, your voice means a lot to me and I miss having new episodes but I know you’re probably practicing ‘The Power of No’ so I’ll keep playing the all the episodes on repeat forever.
Inspirational!

Thank You

A comforting and inspiring listen. No quick easy answers to life’s big questions but rather a collection of helpful, well written and presented thoughts that encourage and support deep thinking about the “real stuff”. Thank you David for making the effort and doing the hard and time consuming work needed to share your gifts via this podcast.
Love all of it

My husband and I listen to your podcasts in the car. And they leave us with so much food for thought. Your research, writing and delivery are brilliant. Thank you for sharing your insights. It’s game changing not only for creatives but for anyone who wants to live a full life. Thank you !
Motivational thoughts for the unsentimental

Intelligent, thoughtful and well written musings on art, life and the intersection thereof. A real cut above the simple Stuart Smalleyesque maudlin pep talks I’ve found on other podcasts, as I search for some moral support for my artistic strugglings. This guy gets it, and he doesn’t sugarcoat it while he gives it to you. For fans of Art and Fear, and The War of Art. Thanks, David. This is some good work you’re putting out into the world.

There should be a Nobel Prize for podcasters—I’d move to Sweden and vote for David.
Amazing podcast!

Excellent bite-sized nuggets of wisdom and reassurance and the occasional smack upside the head. Discovered only recently, but back-tracking to the beginning to be a part of the journey. Thanks, David.
Thank you so much

I can’t tell you how helpful this is in my own creative process. Just what I needed. Thank you so much.
