    Your Trauma Isn’t Your Fault, But Healing Is Your Job

    What happened to you is not your fault. The trauma, the grief, the pain, the things you didn’t deserve, none of it is your fault. But healing from it is your responsibility. And I don’t mean that in a harsh “get over it” way. I mean it in a real life way. Because if you don’t start healing, you’ll bleed on people who didn’t cut you. You’ll keep reacting from old wounds, sabotaging good things, pushing away love, and living your life through the lens of what hurt you instead of who you are now. In this episode, I talk about why healing is messy, slow, and uncomfortable, but also necessary if you want peace, stability, and a life that actually feels good. You’re allowed to grieve forever if you need to, but you also deserve to be functional, grounded, and free. This is your reminder that no one is coming to save you, but you don’t need saving. You need to choose yourself, one small decision at a time.

    #34: It Wasn't Just Life - It Was My Body

    For a long time, I thought I felt terrible because life was just… hard. Family court, co-parenting stress, healing from trauma, single-mom exhaustion — I fully believed that feeling sad, foggy, inflamed, and exhausted was just my baseline. Turns out, it wasn’t. I recently found out I have Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid — and suddenly, years of mental, emotional, and physical symptoms finally made sense. In this episode, I talk about how mind and body are deeply connected, how inflammation can impact mental health, what changed when I finally got blood work done, and why accepting “this is just how I feel” can sometimes mean missing something important.     For a long time, my whole thing has been freedom. Independence. Protecting my peace. And at the same time, I’ve always deeply wanted love. Real love. Passion, intimacy, connection. For a while, I told myself those two things couldn’t exist together. Either you want peace or you want love. Either you want freedom or you want partnership. And honestly, that belief usually comes from experience. In this episode, I talk about that tension. About wanting both, even if you don’t have proof yet that it’s possible. About how lack of evidence isn’t the same thing as impossibility. And about refusing to settle for versions of love that require you to shrink. Working out only if I had time, doing things for myself after everything else was done, telling myself I’d get to it later. And the truth is, later never really comes. In this episode, I talk about why taking care of yourself isn’t a reward or something you earn after being productive. It’s the foundation. When you put yourself first, your body, your energy, your well being, everything else actually becomes easier. This isn’t about perfection or adding more to your plate. It’s just a reminder that you deserve to be a priority in your own life.

    This is not a polished episode. I recorded it on my phone, in one take, while lying in bed — because that’s all I had in me. No editing. No script. Just the truth. I’m stepping away from the podcast for a while. I don’t know for how long. Maybe longer than I’d like. But I need to make space to take care of myself, my mental health, and my son. I haven’t been able to be consistent with this because life has been full — and sometimes healing has to come before creating.
