In a time where we're all threatened by a rhetoric of hate from the people in power; A Gay And A NonGay challenges many of our differences head on and promises that no matter who you are, or what you're into (Bruce Springsteen or Britney), love is love and gay and nongays can be friends.

Say Yes To The Cross-Dress - with Fat Mike of NOFX
Dan and James are joined from California by legendary punk rocker Fat Mike of NOFX. This is an explicit episode.
It's quite the ride through BDSM, cross-dressing, sex dungeons, live-in sex slaves and being abandoned by your friends.

Is Metal homophobic?
It's two weeks since the final of RuPaul's Drag Race and James refuses to credit Dan with correctly predicting the winner (spoiler free)! Plus, is metal homophobic? Dan and James discuss the reaction to metal star Roddy Bottum's proudly gay 'Man On Man' album cover.

1000 Days
It's 1000 days since the U.K government promised to ban conversion therapy but still hasn't. James and Dan reflect on their BBC Radio 1 documentary 'Tell It: From Gay to NonGay' and chat to the co-director of CURED, a BFI Flare Festival documentary about the activists who brought about a 1973 victory in the movement for LGBTQ equality: the American Psychiatric Association’s decision to remove homosexuality from its manual of mental illnesses. Bennett Singer's movie perfectly explains that to 'cure' LGBQ+ people, we only need to be accepted.
So why do Church and religion play a huge role in perpetuating stigma, discrimination and physical harm towards people because of their sexuality?
We witnessed this trauma when we interviewed former Christian singer Vicky Beeching during our series about gay conversion therapy, 'Tell It: From Gay to NonGay?' and thanks to BBC Sounds, you can hear an incredibly moving preview from our series in today's episode.
It's not an overly triggering episode, but we will issue a low-key trigger warning here just to be safe.
Email us about 'conversion therapy' at any time, we're here to help - us@gaynongay.com

Juno Dawson
We're celebrating #InternationalWomensDay with esteemed author Juno Dawson.
We ask Juno about the state of trans in the U.K. Are things better or worse for trans people, and how things currently are for trans youth following the landmark High Court ruling against puberty blockers for children.
Her new book 'What’s The T' is an exploration of what it means to be a young transgender and/or non-binary person in the 21st Century, a go-to handbook for the young trans and/or non-binary queer community and their allies.

Worked for me
As a mom of two gays and a nongay, with early indoctrination as conservative Christian, and subsequently being raised by the 12 step program, Dan and James and all their ups and downs and all over the places, along with their exceptional guests, have helped me laugh, gain perspective and make sense of it all. THANKS.
Inclusive
I appreciate listening to this podcast. It is great how they enjoy talking with each other. And they don’t take themselves too seriously.
Wonderful dynamic
I love listening to these guys basically fighting with each other. It always makes me laugh or smile.
