    18-Characters finding themselves in game

    This week, Jackson and I discuss the pros and cons of creating lengthy, novel-esque backstories vs generic backstories that allow for more discovery of the character through gameplay. Which is better? Which is worse? Are we qualified to answer that question? Eh, maybe?     This week, I talk about the rule of cool. Do you ever have bland moments in your games? Do you suffer from your game being nothing but an execution of the rules set before you? You might be suffering from a lack of rule of cool! In this episode I give examples of how the rule of cool should and shouldn’t be used for the most fun at your table, but also maybe your table is cooler than mine! Remember, all rules, including the rule of cool, are more like a set of guidelines, so be as cool or as uncool as you like! Hope you enjoy!

    This week signifies the exalted return of the overlord after his long and arduous campaign against the heretical pocket dimension ‘freedom fighters’. But never mind all that, Zach’s not a war criminal, and this episode we’re discussing an upcoming book, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything! We talk through some of the changes and adaptations WotC is introducing with this new supplement as well as discussing new additions and content ports from 3.5! This isn’t an alibi and Zach’s definitely not exploiting a loophole in the laws of spacetime to be in more than one place at a time right now! Also, no need to look at Alpha Centauri this weekend! If you saw anything, it would instantly erase your existence anyways!
