This podcast aims to dispel some of the mystery about what goes on behind the scenes of running a group counselling practice. Since we launched our group practice, Shoreline Counselling in 2019, we’ve learned alot about leadership, office build-ins, renting vs. owning, working with independent contractors, supervising students, business expansion, marketing, financial literacy and SEO, amongst many other things. With two locations and 25 clinicians and counting, we don’t pretend to have all the answers, but in this podcast we aim to do our best at honestly sharing our experiences - good and bad - in the hopes of offering nuggets of useful information to support others walking this path of group practice ownership.

That's a Wrap on Season 1
In this final episode, Laura and Steph say goodbye to the first season of A Not So Private Practice.
They reflect on their bad review, the inspiration that led them here and connection and community that has been fostered since this podcast launched. They share stories of what has been going on behind the scenes as they worked to fit podcasting into their already busy lives.

It's All in the Dollars and Cents
In this episode, Steph and Laura chat all about their experiences with money and group practice ownership. Internships and Fellowships

The Front Desk Team Who Changed Our Lives
In this episode, Steph and Laura talk to Stevie and Chylanne about their roles as our front desk support team. We talk all about procedures, client care, relationship building and the nuances of managing the admin for a group of therapists. Steph and Laura speak to the value having this team brings to their business and lives and how they could not survive without them.
