Parresia is primarily a teaching ministry focused on the amazing grace of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to see Jesus in the beauty of His Person and the completeness of His work, to make Him known through the teaching of the Gospel, and to encourage everyone who is changed by His grace to share the good news with others. Parresia is a Greek work that means boldness. Boldly we receive, and boldly we share. Involved in ministry for over two decades, Tricia Gunn, the founder of Parresia, has always had a passion to see God’s beloved children healed and delivered — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She has had the honor of touching many people through writing curriculums on spiritual freedom and prayer as well as leading conferences in which thousands have participated. She has enjoyed the privilege of a front-row seat to witness the Lord’s miraculous power to transform countless lives for His glory. Today she teaches and writes about the extravagant love of the Father, the amazing grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and intimate friendship with the Holy Spirit. Tricia is the wife of Mark, and the mother of 5 wonderful grown children. Tricia and Mark reside in Birmingham, AL.     Attributes of God, Session 2, "The Love of God"

    “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.” (1 John 3:16, NIV) Before the beginning of the world, the Father and the Son always existed in Perfect Love. But when Jesus came to earth, something was added to His divine nature of Love: the sinless human nature of man. Why? So that we - as fallen human beings - would be made capable of receiving His love and be restored to Him. The Father glorified the Son and made known His true nature and identity by restoring the Son to His rightful place in the presence of His unveiled glory in heaven, but Jesus would have to go through the cross first. Jesus, while always maintaining His divine nature, “emptied Himself” and became a Man made of flesh and blood, like us in every respect, yet without sin, so that He could be our Lamb of God. He was born to die! The cross would be the means by which God would glorify His Son. As Jesus returned to heaven, God would say, “Mission accomplished! Well done, My Righteous Son, My Good and Faithful Servant!” The Son would also glorify the Father through the cross by displaying God’s great sacrifice in giving His Son, His only Son, the Son that He loved for us. The Father’s nature of Perfect Love would be demonstrated. To reconcile us to God, Jesus became fully God and fully man. Jesus, our Mediator, is the full expression of the love of God for mankind! As the “God-Man” He is still our Intercessor in heaven. Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

    It is good to be thankful to God because everything good that we have comes from heaven. But have you ever thought about what Jesus was thankful for? What is recorded in the scriptures for us? There are five times that we see specifically what Jesus thanked the Father for: He thanked Him three times for bread; He thanked Him for whom He chooses to reveal His Son and His kingdom; and He thanked the Father for always hearing His prayers.     The sound of grace is the sweetest sound there is. The Gospel is wrapped up in one word: grace. The entire New Covenant is wrapped up in one word: grace. The more we know we are forgiven of all our sins, the more we will know we are loved and the more we will rest. No matter how far short we have fallen, we can look to Jesus and say, “I am under grace!” No matter how misunderstood we are, we can look to Jesus and say, “I am under grace!” No matter how chaotic our circumstances seem, we can look to Jesus and say, “I am under grace!” Because God has a good outcome for us! He looks at Jesus, and then He looks at the mirror image of Jesus in us, and says, "You are My Beloved Child. Grace to you! My peace I give to you!     We have heard, “Jesus, loves me.” But WHY are we loved? Are we lovable? YES! We are lovable because God is LOVE, and LOVE made us. And LOVE can’t make anyone that isn’t lovable. Our lovable-ness to God isn’t about behavior. Our lovableness has everything to do with who God is and who He made us to be. God loved us before we were born. God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us and take away our sins. If we were loved before we did anything good or bad, then there is nothing we can do to lose that love! We didn’t do anything to earn it in the first place! We aren’t loved because we DO. We are loved because we ARE! We aren’t loved because we love God. We were already loved by God.
