Actually Autistic Educator

I am a psychiatrist, and am painfully aware how my field misses diagnoses and doubts narratives of autistics we treat. I became aware this year that my young son was struggling with his teachers, who had negative perceptions around his communication, the way he senses the world, and seemed to take his differences in behavior personally. He is currently being tested for autism. I work to advocate and clear the way so he can be himself and learn in school, and come into his own socially. Resources online as a parent are so sketchy, looking online is difficult. This podcast makes a perfect point about how necessary it is to have autistic educators for both autistic people and neurotypical people who need very much to hear this information. Thank you for this resource, I listened to all of the episodes in 4 days.
