Man Up" Is Useless Advice — Unless You Tell Him How

"Man up" is one of the most common things said to men — and one of the least useful. It's vague, it shifts the burden of figuring out what to do onto the man hearing it, and it gives zero actual direction. In this episode, I break down why vague accountability is really a cost-shift in disguise — and what it actually sounds like to ask a man to step up in a way he can act on. Accountability requires clarity. If you want a man to step up, define the step. What we get into: → Why "man up" fails as advice — vagueness as a hidden cost-shift → The difference between identity-demands and behavior-requests → What specific direction actually sounds like, in real terms → How to hold a man accountable without leaving him guessing If something here hit home, tell me what it was — comments or DM.
