Adelaide Connected is a podcast series aimed at giving insight into people who have lived abroad and why they have chosen Adelaide as home to live and work. Hosts Naomi Marsh and Ali Chatburn speak with professionals from various industries who are now based in Adelaide, South Australia. We hear about why they chose to move to Adelaide, how they navigated the migration experience and forming new networks, and what they love about their new home town.     In the final episode of season four, we are thrilled to be chatting with Rashpal Bhatti. Originally from Britain but having recently been in Singapore for the last 14 years, Rashpal moved to Adelaide in September 2024 with his family. Rashpal has most recently led BHP’s Maritime team as Vice President, responsible for delivering the safest vessels at the lowest cost to BHP’s operations. In the last five years, despite the significant geopolitical and pandemic disruptions, BHP has been the lowest cost iron ore charterer in the world, outpacing their peers. Rashpal was instrumental in the set-up of the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation in Singapore, where BHP is a founding member. The Centre is regarded as the premier industry think tank and future fuels innovator. Rashpal has held global roles in The Hague in Netherlands, India, and Singapore, across Technology, Marketing, Procurement and Maritime. She is a water engineer delivering infrastructure projects for private organisations, water utilities and government. Dr Jessica has developed numerical models of water systems, has designed solutions that prepare us for a future where water might become more scarce. With a bachelor degree of technology, civil engineering already under his belt he enrolled in the University of Adelaide to study a master's degree in construction management which he completed last year. Anish has recently commenced as a Construction Engineer and Estimator at Bardavcol where he delivers civil and construction projects, including significant work with large-scale Highway Construction entities. Anish came across Adelaide Connected when he arrived in Adelaide which has helped him build both his professional and personal networks, we look forward to chatting to him about his migration experience including what he loves about his new hometown. She also hosts a podcast, is a speaker and facilitator at industry events, and is a busy working mum to three beautiful kids. Williams, where she is responsible for the supply chain, including production of footwear, bags, belts, and apparel at the Adelaide workshop along with distribution, logistics and procurement.
