Millions of girls, women, and gender diverse individuals are underdiagnosed with ADHD and related conditions each year. Not only is this a product of in male-centric diagnostic criteria, but also the gender conforming stereotypes of these conditions that we hold. The issues that arise from being missed and unsupported are myriad: self-blame, low educational outcomes, even maladaptive behaviours to cope. This podcast aims to educate, advocate and support girls and gender diverse individuals with their unique strengths and challenges they face with masking, academics, diagnosis and more!

    Hollywood HATES writing ADHD: why explicit representation matters.

    There are estimated to be 129 million people in the world that have ADHD, but somehow less than like 10 characters in the history of movies and TV shows that are explicitly mentioned to have it... From Everything, Everywhere, all at once to Ginny & Georgia, there is indeed ADHD representation on screen. But it's not enough. These shows should explicitly mention ADHD in their scripts to truly achieve representation, get more women diagnosed, and effectively dismantle stereotypes.
