Nixon (1995) - Gettin' Stoned
We're back again to spark and bark as the Babiez sit down for their annual tradition of getting high and talking about an Oliver Stone movie. This year, it's the 1995 epic Nixon, starring Anthony Hopkins as Nixon, Bob Hoskins as J. Edgar, Paul Sorvino as Kissinger, and also one million other people.
Then, at 1:39:53, it's the Great American On-Screen Presidential Draft. -
Hi Octane, Here's Something!
Vern tells us all about the Sofia Coppola/Zoe Cassavettes Comedy Central TV magazine show "Hi Octane!"
-
Golden Kamuy, Here's Something!

-
Li'l Abner (1959) - Moviez 4 Babiez
It's the episode you've all been waiting for: the Babiez are finally talking about the 1950s musical adaptation of the defunct comic strip Li'l Abner. It's definitely normal that we're covering this before, like, even one Disney animated film. Or a Pixar. Or a Studio Ghibli. No Totoro. Only Abner.
Before discussing this movie's totally f****d sexual & racial politics, we wax about the cinematic majesty of trains. And we finish everything off with another round of Have Yourself A Rich Little Christmas.
Normal!

there are truly times when i have no previous knowledge of what you guys are talking about and they’re still some of the most interesting conversations i’ve heard. like you guys are so fun to listen to and the breadth of your combined knowledge is a sight to behold. i might not follow along with every piece of media you guys dissect, but i’ll definitely be along for the ride!
Fantastic podcast
From insight to tangents, this podcast has enhanced my community viewing. 10/10 would recommend!
Charming and Insightful
The three hosts show their hands at the beginning of every episode by spending 10-20 minutes talking about any and all pop-culture besides Community, but turn around and provide insightful commentary on the show from the perspective of both fans and critics. Always aware of the faults of this show that they love, they do much more than just talk about the funny jokes they laughed at. Absolutely worth a listen if you like Community, or, honestly, any nerd culture.
