Never Give a Dog a Second Bone Until He Has Finished the First One | Uganda Proverb | AFIAPodcast

This Ugandan proverb has many interpretations, but it is generally seen as a warning against being too greedy or impatient. It is important to focus on one task at a time and to finish what you start before moving on to something new. Here are three nuggets of wisdom from this proverb:1. Don't overcommit yourself. It's better to focus on a few things and do them well than to spread yourself too thin and end up doing everything poorly.2. Be patient. It takes time to achieve your goals. Don't try to rush things or you'll be more likely to make mistakes.3. Be grateful for what you have. Don't always be looking for the next best thing. Appreciate the good things in your life and focus on making them even better.Join me on the #AFIAPodcast at 6 am PST/4 pm EAT on YouTube @okelojavan to listen to the full interview and share your thoughts in the comments below.SUBSCRIBE to get Daily African Proverbs and their meaning in your life https://rb.gy/jdavpn#MadarakaFestival: https://madarakafestival.com/My New Book: Get your copy of Rooted In Love and dive deep into the world of love, and self-discovery. https://store.bookbaby.com/book/rooted-in-loveRESOURCES:1. The Real Meaning of Gift-Giving | AFIAPodcast | African Proverbs

In many cultures, gift-giving is seen as a way of showing love, appreciation, or respect. But what does it really mean when someone gives you a gift? Is it always a selfless act?In the Mali proverb, "One does not give a gift without a motive," we are reminded that there is always an underlying reason for gift-giving. Whether it is to gain favor, to get something in return, or simply to make someone feel good, there is always a motive behind the gift.In this video, we will explore the real meaning of gift-giving and share three nuggets of wisdom from the Mali proverb.Nuggets of wisdom:1. Be aware of the motives of the giver. When someone gives you a gift, it is important to be aware of their motives. Are they giving the gift out of love, or are they expecting something in return?2. Don't be afraid to accept gifts. It is okay to accept gifts, even if you know that the giver has a motive. Just be aware of the motive and don't let it make you feel indebted to the giver.3. Give gifts with no expectations. The best way to give a gift is to do it with no expectations. Give the gift because you want to make the other person happy, not because you expect something in return.I hope this video has given you some insights into the real meaning of gift-giving. Remember, there is always a motive behind the gift, so be aware of the giver's motives and don't be afraid to accept gifts. My guest is Nola Ro, the Guyanese visionary who once shared her dreams on a Brooklyn park bench, now stands as a thriving entrepreneur and devoted mother. She runs a celebrated Guyanese-Caribbean restaurant and hosts "The Nola Ro Experience Podcast," using her diverse life experiences to inspire and uplift others.
