Pros I like the energy between the two hosts. There aren’t a lot of shows that talk about growing up as an African kid or what it means to have African parents in the US and the identity issues it can cause. Black people are not a monolith and in the US especially we're always clumped together.  It’s important to talk about that. I like that the show is a balance between serious issues and lighter ones and that they mix educated conversations with some joking here and there. It’s still an enjoyable listen because their laughter is infectious. Overall, the hosts are relatable and even if I don’t agree with their position. I have liked a lot of the topics thus far, and appreciate the lens they use for discussion. The conversations are respectful, but not preachy like a news story or documentary. Cons Sound quality was really poor for the earlier episodes (but it’s getting better). I would also like to see more guests of non-West African origin or at least some Lusophone or Francophone Africans guests.

I am grateful to have become a frequent listener to this podcast. Each show highlights various topics and issues that are experienced by Africans, African Americans and those who are share the experiences in a grey area group that overlaps both realms. I also like that the podcast stays current and up to date with relevant and recent topics. I encourage even people who are just curious, to tune in.

I appreciate this podcast and the unique perspectives it brings. The topics are always diverse and informative. The candidness of the hosts makes for honest conversations with guests. As a child of African immigrants who was born in the U.S.A. the topics really hit on themes that resonate.

While I like the different perspectives on the show, I can’t help but notice a theme of fixating on African-Americans vs Africans and Caribbeans. I’m Jamaican and African-American and I find it weird that you all repeatedly discuss these groups as in opposition to one another when in the African American and Caribbean context, we work very closely together and have for decades now. You can find both groups at the forefront of many civil rights issues. Instead of spending their time fixating on the shortcomings of one group or another. Additionally, please listen to yourselves and realize how you almost always frame African-Americans in a negative context which is sooo problematic. Yes, you acknowledge stereotypes which is important. But then you go on to speak in ways that reinforce those very stereotypes. Pls check yourselves if this is not your intention.
