Special Sports Recap Part 1 - Shane Warne, NRL Predictions and the Wildest NBA Season on Record?

Kick off the weekend of sport by joining in with the boys on Agendas Only! Today’s podcast starts on the saddest of notes with a tribute to Shane Warne, Australia’s highest Test wicket taker and national icon after his sudden passing (1:17) - like every sports fan and Australian, it’s tough to think he’s gone and quantify what his legacy was, but hear the boys express purely what he meant to them. Moving on, Luka and Artie recap the PGA Tour Saudi breakaway controversy, with an interesting discussion on the futures of golf and ignominious legend Phil Mickelson (8:59). Speaking of the weekend being upon us, Agendas Only is in a party mood; fierce debate abounds in the Best Party Song draft - excellent inspiration for any of your weekend celebrations (15:32). One group that won’t be partying anytime soon is Australia’s cricketers, with their frustrating first Test draw - and some of the individual performances - causing particular disappointment with the boys (25:00). Footy is finally back, with a full slate of predictions on the ladder, Dally M, biggest dark horses and storylines a captivating listen (31:07) - can Alex convince anyone that the Cowboys won’t receive the Wooden Spoon? A hallmark of Agendas Only is shining a light on excellent athletes who don’t get their recognition; for all those who’ve never heard of David Foster, sit back and allow Alex to take you through what is truly an unbelievable sporting legacy (52:37). Back again for another week, Producer Connor’s “Topic of the Week” takes listeners through a sport they might know, but never with the iconic Agendas Only unbiased analysis provided (57:57). NBA season is heating up, so tune in for the boys breaking down all the potential lead in storylines, playing Buy/Sell/Hold on Pelicans fun, a recent Celtics hot streak and everything in between (1:05:48). Finally, the boys bring in all the favourites you’ll come to love: Bold Opinions (1:27:20) - including an especially controversial one this week from Alex - and Hall of Fame (1:39:25). Pakistan Cricket Preview, NBA Awards Predictions, Super Bowl LVI Washup, NRL Preseason Reaction and a Podcast Petition?!

Summer is winding down, and as much as we don’t want it to end, the silver lining is a tonne more end of summer sport for the boys to get into on Agendas Only! The end of the summer of cricket is where the boys pick up, with Australia’s dominant win contrasting everyone’s apathy for yet another 5 T20I series before previewing the Pakistan series (1:00). Luka celebrates his Premier League team Chelsea becoming Club World Champions, recapping all the main storylines of the European football (soccer?) calendar (11:49), before Alex reacts to a bumper NRL preseason - his desperation for real footy coming back coming into frame (18:33). NFL season is officially over after a manic Super Bowl LVI; hear all the best analysis on Aaron Donald’s dominance, Kupp’s clutch catches and how the Bengals clutched defeat from the jaws of victory to keep the Super Bowl in LA (20:54). Keeping US sport in frame, it’s only right the boys debate the craziest NBA season - allstar snubs (26:55), Zion discussions (35:09), whether the Celtics are real (37:40) and predicting the entire slate of awards (42:42). A passionate DPOY debate (55:49) is a true highlight, with Luka and Artie getting into whether a surprise contender can win it all. Producer Connor lights it up once again with a particularly dynamic “Topic of the Week” (1:03:09), before Arthur’s impassioned plea to listeners to sign a petition close to all those on the pod’s (and all those in Brisbane’s) hearts (1:14:15). Finally, the boys bring in all the favourites you’ll come to love: Bold Opinions (1:19:28) and Hall of Fame (1:32:00). Hosts: Luka O’Brien, Alex Downes, Arthur Stower Producer: Connor Smith

The Best of the Break! Aus Open, Tom Brady Retires, NBA Deadline Predictions, NFL Playoffs Recap & NRL Breakout Candidates?

Your favourite podcast has finally returned from a summer more interrupted than the average NFL game (and that’s saying something)…Luka, Alex and Artie are finally back to deliver the most biased unbiased, bias sports takes on Agendas Only! This special edition pod - while not the most timely - serves as a highlights package of all the boys’ best takes over the summer, so relax and enjoy. As Australians opening the pod, it’s only right the boys start with the Australian Open review (1:20) - lauding Ash Barty, questioning Novak, paying homage to Rafa and allowing Alex to get some Dylan Alcott thoughts off his chest. Even during their break, the refusal to not let summer die has been strong across the pod as they jump into drafting the perfect summer afternoon (10:29). A special place in sporting lore will be reserved for Tom Brady - if this really is the end for the GOAT, hear Patriots’ fan Luka’s sombre tribute to the man who brought so much to New England, reaching heights that may never be reached again (15:36). It’s a different (but just as damaging) kind of sad for Patriots fans when they think about this season, but the NFL Playoffs were electric - Luka, Alex and Artie all debate their favourite moments before Super Bowl LVI (21:25). Looming very large on the horizon is NRL season, with Alex and Artie looking into their crystal ball to predict the best and brightest who’ll break out this season (28:54). Producer Connor trades out the clipboard for a mic in a long awaited “Topic of the Week” (43:17), whilst the boys attempt to predict all the machinations of the NBA trade deadline (54:48) - some right, some wrong, but a captivating listen nonetheless. Finally, the boys bring in all the favourites you’ll come to love: Bold Opinions (1:19:48) and Hall of Fame (1:29:35). Hosts: Luka O’Brien, Alex Downes, Arthur Stower Producer: Connor Smith

    Summer of Cricket Wrapup Special

After a long summer hiatus - government mandated, covid related and tension over killing the Patriots season fuelled - Luka, Alex and Artie have once again returned to deliver the most bias, unbiased, biased sports takes on Agendas Only! Covering all aspects of Australia’s dramatic 4-0 series win is their first prerogative, with rating each victorious Australian’s performance (1:00). Dominant series for the team, but making the case for individual credit and evaluating each player’s future prospects gets fierce; as longtime listeners know, the Cam Green discussion (11:25) is always a strong agenda debate. There’s no debate on this one - hear the boys laud the man with the hottest summer of recent memory in Scott Boland (25:00). Highlights and Headlines (29:58) allow the boys to discuss the best moments of the wider series - the Summer of Head, a Mitch Starc renaissance, if Usman is the future and just how bad this England team were are all talking points. Two very different outlooks post series for Australia and England, but hear the boys take a deep dive into the potential futures of both teams - what changes England must make to rebound from their lowest point (38:02) and how Australia can build on this for their 2022 tours to become the undisputed #1 Test nation again (46:52). Finally, the boys break down the biggest story in world cricket - Justin Langer as Australian coach - first debating his future and potential replacements before the sacking (53:12) and then reacting to the shock news of his “resignation” (1:03:30). Cam Green Drop Zone, Best Olympic Sports & Time to Open the NRL Books?

Luka, Alex and Artie are live for the maiden podcast of Agendas Only! The boys start with a totally unbiased recap of the Gabba Test, days 1-3 (1:00), into a chat about the perfect cricket watching experience - has Warney finally driven them to watch 7? Speaking of Warney, we know his opinion on it, but hear the boys debate whether Hobart is the best venue for the 5th Test or if it even matters (11:51). Fellow bowler Arthur is adamant that Ajaz Patel got robbed of MOTM for his 10 wicket haul and sticks up for his guy (14:07); meanwhile, Patriots fan Luka revels in a Coach Belichick masterclass over Artie and Alex’s Bills (17:02). Perhaps still a bit dusty from the weekend, they all discuss the top 5 drunk foods, with plenty of controversy (20:05). Some call him the bravest man in cricket for daring to even bring up the topic - hear Luka prompt a deep dive into why Cam Green hasn’t been worth the hype for a while and is actually entering the drop zone after his miserable Gabba golden duck (29:23). Artie takes a break from heavy sports analysis to bring a lighter touch in considering the best Olympic Sports (44:21), before Alex delves into whether opening the books for NRL clubs would lead to a better league or a step too far (53:28). Finally, the boys bring in all the favourites you’ll come to love: Unpopular Opinions (1:05:14), Hall of Fame (1:10:11) and Podcast Picks (1:15:18).
