All About Aging is an educational podcast that will explore different topics associated with aging. These topics can range from our individual perspective towards aging to society’s attitude towards aging. We will come together to chat and share about what are some ways to combat ageism. How we choose to age each and everyday can have a significant impact towards on future self. On this journey, I would like to keep this topic easy to understand, foster conversation and shed positive light about aging! We can alter the negativities that are associated with aging and create a better future !

    Language is powerful. When we use language correctly there is impact. However, when we speak or use language irresponsibly then it can have damaging effects whether towards a situation, a person or in a context.     Episode 2: Examples of Ageism in Plain Sight

    Ageism is discrimination towards someone due to their age. In our day to day living, there are plenty of examples but are we paying attention to these ageist imageries, wordings, or gestures? Do you think some jokes are just light hearted jokes or are they actually ageist? Think critically! To combat ageism, we need to be able to identify it first. Let’s start with one step at a time and pay attention to our surroundings. Let’s practice recognition first. Next, ask ourselves why is it ageist? Lastly, what would you do to change it? Note: Ageism is a ism that we all may experience and it’s important that we create an environment that’s age friendly!
