Facebook Polls, Call For Games and Upcoming Interview!

On the ColecoVision & Adam Fanatics Facebook group we have had a poll going since October 22nd. In this poll we asked "Which Arcade Game ports to the ColecoVision do you like the best?" We have gotten 97 votes so far with 18 different games voted on. Not surprisingly Donkey Kong leads with 26% of the vote followed by Pepper II and Zaxxon at 10% and Carnival and Mr. Do! at 7% filling out the top 5.

Another poll that has been active for the last 4 days is "If someone was to make more of the ColecoVision hand held mini arcade games what game(s) would you want to have on it?" This one has gotten a lot of responses so far, 149 votes to be exact. The leader so far is Berzerk at 14% followed by Venture at 11% and Burger Time at 9%.

If you want to be involved in these polls join the Facebook group, link is in the description.

    Podcast

We are happy to announce that we now have an audio podcast. You can access it via the Apple Podcasts app, search for All Things ColecoVision, or via the RSS feed on the AllThingsColecoVision.com website. All episodes will be streamed via the podcast as long as the episode doesn't rely heavily on video.

    Barbarian homebrew

We can across this homebrew game for the ColecoVision in the Atari Age forum. It appears to have been a work in progress over the past few years and we are impressed. From what we are able to determine it is being worked on by ERIS Creations. Hopefully we will see more of this soon!

    Power Ring

Available now for the cost of shipping to Retro Gamer Club members, a subsidiary of 8 Bit Milli Games, is the "Power Ring". This is a simple but highly effective piece of hardware that restores old ColecoVision and Adam controllers. By placing this in the controller it improves the joystick response in all 8 directions, making games so much easier to play.

Berzerk, RoboTron:2084 and Super Game Modules!

Berzerk, RoboTron:2084 and Super Game Modules!

Two new games were recently released by CollectorVision.
    The first game is Berzerk.
This was an arcade favorite back in the day and Tony Cruise of Electric Adventures has created an awesome version of it for the ColecoVision. The graphics and game play are spot on with the only caveat being a limitation of the hardware not allowing for the robot voices as in the arcade version, so you will not hear the distinctive "Stop Humans" that echoed through out the arcades in the early 80's.
The next game is Robotron: 2084.
This is another great arcade classic written by Charles Spencer. From the game play I have seen it is true to the original arcade version. When this was in the arcades I used to try and play it but I can honestly say I was not very good at it back then. Maybe I'll be better at it now.
Opcode Games is making custom Super Game Modules. These are the basic SGM's we all know and love but in cool colors. So far it seems there is Red, Black and Beige.
That's it for this update - if you come across any news or rumors let us know via our website, AllThingsColecoVision.com
